Made the move to $50NL when BR reached 1200.....this way I could drop a buy in or 2 and not be back below $1000. Going well so far so when I hit $2200 I plan to jump to $100NL......regardless of the number of hands that I have @ $50NL. Sound like a good idea or not???

I have about 6,000 hands @ 50NL and am just over 9PTBB/100. I want to move up but w/o having a lot of hands in my DB I'm not sure if it is wise. I have read that 100NL is often softer than 50NL....is that true? Should I attempt the jump and drop back if it is not going well?

What have been the experiences of some of you who have moved up?

Also, do you guys count bonuses and/or live game winnings in games against noobs as part of your required BR to move up?

Money is money, and the reason for a bankroll is to handle variation and bad beats and reduce your risk of ruin. So if you're a winning player at NL50 i'm sure you will be winning at NL100, therefore howevr you obtain the bankroll shouldn't matter. My experience is that the NL100 games are a lot tighter than the NL50 (at party at least). Good luck with the move if you decide to make it

With regard to counting bonus as playing bankroll, while it is in your bankroll, you haven't won it off other players. Bonuses, to my mind, shorten the amount of experience gained to when one can 'properly' move up. The more experience the better, the better your game will be compared to players who ahve raced up in limits by hitting every bonus they can.

There's not much a of a difference in quality of play at the 50's and 100's. The biggest jumps I've seen are from $100 to $200 and $200 to $400.

$400 to $1000 doesn't look like a big jump in quailty of play to me. Though I won't accruately know that till I play full time there.
