Over the past two years I've kept semi-detailed stats about my live play at Turning Stone Casino in upstate NY. Here are the results:
'04 was an amazing year, though only 6 sessions totalling 40 hours. I ended up netting $1,046.
'05 was not so good, but acceptable. 14 sessions totalling 69 hours, netting $348.
The tough part is trying to determine my BB/100. Through various sources I've concluded that the average dealer will deal ~40 hands/hour of low limit poker. I figure that translates into ~35 hands/hour of NL. I also figure I took a short break every 2 hours or so, consisting of me leaving after my CO hand and returning before my BB. So basically, it's tough as hell to pinpoint an accurate BB/100, but if I'm forced to assume, I'd say ~33 hands/hour. With that said, I came in at 39.6BB/100 through 1300 hands in '04, and 7.64BB/100 through 2,277 hands in '05. Together, I'm running at 19.38BB/100 through 3,597 hands. Another thing is that I didn't track dealer tips. Obviously this doesn't count as profit, but if I'm trying to evaluate myself as a player, it certainly needs to be considered.
Overall, I'm pleased with my play. My actual win rate began to converge sometime early in '05 I'd say, as I settled down from that 40BB/100 that I was going at, which is obviously completely unsustainable. Maybe by the end of '06 I'll finally have played enough hands to call this close to accurate regarding my overall ability.
Anybody have any thoughts/comments/tips, all are welcome as always!
