Idea on bankroll managment

Postby QWIKSNK » Fri Nov 04, 2005 8:48 am

Over the past few weeks, ive been working on my 1/2 limit game. And while I was severly underbankrolled at the begining, I played for an hour or two, if i was up $25-50 I would stop. I did this for a few nights, and trippled my bankroll. My bankroll now is ~500 (495 to be exact) From what i have read, 300BB is what you need, which would be 600.

Now, I want to move up to 2/4, Ive been watching the play there, and it doesnt seem much differnt. For this I would need a $1200 bankroll.

However, I am still a very inexperianced limit player (played alot of NL, and love and hate some aspects of both games, im just trying to become a more well rounded player)

I Want to force myself to play 1/2 for at least af full month (I started oct 23, plan on playing 1/2 till dec. 1) Soon I will hit that $600 mark (hopefully tonight, friday nights always seem especially profitable)

What i am thinking, Is every time i get my BR over $650, cash out that 50 into my neteller account, and leave it there, dont look at it to see how much money in there (because i know as soon as i hit 1200, i will want to try 2/4) untill december 1.

This sounds to me like the people who turn their watches ahead 5 min because they are always late everywhere they go and they think they now have an extra 5 mins. Except that they know their watch is 5 mins fats so they know they still have those 5 mins.

It would be different if someone else turned the watch ahead and they didnt know it.

You will still know the money is in Neteller so mentally , youll still know what your totla roll is and you'll act accordingly.

QWIKSNK,

Not sure where you currently do all of your playing but this may help.

If you want to move up soon but don't have the roll yet all you need to do is chase some bonuses for maybe 2 months tops and you'll have your $1200 roll to play $2/4.

Step 1 - Cryptos

There are currently 4 Crypto sites that still have easy clearance rates for a $1/2 limit player like yourself.

- Poker Plex gives $50 a month if you play 300 dealt hands. They've recently changed their bonus to a much tougher clearance rate so this looks like it may be the final month to play this site at $1/2. Also, for some reason they have been giving out $100 bonus this month instead of $50. Get in on this now before it's gone!

- William Hill gives 25 british pounds ($45 US) for 5 hours of play a month.

- Totalbet gives 25 british pounds ($45 US) for 5 hours of play a month.

- UKbetting gives 25 british pounds ($45 US) for 5 hours of play a month.

You must play $1/2 limit or higher to clear the bonuses on these sites.

A head's up on the Cryptos though. With the exception of William Hill, all the Cryptos require a PIN before you can cash out which is mailed to you and usually takes 7-10 business days. Therefore, once you commit money to these sites it'll kinda be hung up until you get that PIN. For future months you'll have no problems. Since you have $600 in your roll, sign up for all 4 of these at once and deposit $100 in each. That'll give you enough to 2-table on their site without too much worry over short term variance. Also, $1/2 tables here are generally super tight so adjust accordingly.

Step 2 - Absolute

You still have $200 left. Absolute currently has a 200% initial deposit bonus going on through November. Their bonuses expire after 60 days but the offer more reload bonuses than anyone can seriously ever clear. Within a week they'll offer 3-4 different reload bonuses so you can slap your other $100 in at that time or keep it to play on whatever your normal site is.

Step 3 - Rakeback

This should actually be step 1. Before you go find the websites to any future poker sites, first find a rakeback affiliate. Go to the affiliate site and follow their links to the poker sites. By doing this you will be able to get rakeback from that poker site as long as you play there. If you end up not really playing there much, nothing lost. If that site becomes one of your main playing sites, you'll be very very glad you did, especially as you move up in limits and rake becomes a much larger number. I think rakeback is still very taboo on some boards so please PM me if you need more info. on that front.

Good luck!
