Do not waste your money on this piece of crap. Almost no real poker information in it. I am sadly dissapointed with the book. I can't believe i wasted $25 on it. I'm going to use it to wipe my a@@, no check that i'm going to give it to someone who has just bought a puppy and needs some training paper.

Yeah it's a coffee table book. There are a FEW real good hand analysis, but save yourself the money and go to B&N and read them while you are at the store.

I agree...I did not care for this book at all and expected much better from Barry.

Well... I have to order these kinds of books from the US (I live in Sweden), so I can't peek at the hand analysis... how about instead of you wiping your ass with it, you send it to me. I'll pay for postage AND the cost of one roll of toilet paper, which will be a lot more comfortable.

The reason why I liked this book so much is because it is different than any other poker book written. I think people are disappointed with the book because they assume an "Advanced" poker book should have detailed hand analysis and articles on strategy. I would guess that Barry believes that advanced/experienced/winning players already have a solid poker strategy to get them through the actual game and believes that the next level of learning involves how to manage your life as a poker player. I put a ton of stock into the idea that winning at poker is much more than how you play your cards and I thought it was great to find a book that addresses the topics that Ace on the RIver does.

The book is a little short though and I dont need a book on such thick stock with so many pics. The small amount of poker strategy stuff in the book is amazing - maybe he will write a strategy book one day, I'd buy it for sure.

I personally thought the book was great! Barry addresses many other poker related issues not involving strategy that you won't find in other poker books. Poker strategy books are a dime a dozen and they all say the same things. Barry's book talks about other things besides the same old raise AQ in middle position, and this is what we call a semi-bluff, etc...

So the book does have something to offer, but that something isn't detailed in depth strategy.

I, too, enjoyed this book.. however, I passed it on to a friend after reading it and haven't seen it since.. read into that what you may
