I'm just wondering what people are hearing about this book. I want to know when / if it is coming out in stores or if it is just going to be available on his site.

After SS2 not coming out on 1st October, Amazon said it would be released sometime next year because of editing. They then e-mailed me and said it would be released between Nov 8-22 this year and that is what they're sticking to for the moment.

Personally I'm really excited but also a bit nervous, after this what's the next amazing book? How many poker books are actually written by world class players? (Cloutier for tournaments, okay, but don't even mention Hellmuths book)

I know of someone on another forum who's received super system 2 from the doylesroom thing this week.

I've got a Cloutier and McEvoy book, the blue one, don't know the name and a friends had it for ages, a good book, bit too tight for internet poker, but hey.

I like the Bob Ciaffone books, the one with him and Stewart Reuben is very good, covers a mix of games and prob needs reading at least twice. Ciaffones Improve your poker is another book I like, general advice.

If you get a copy.. it's worth 200 on eBay!!!! why isn't doyle selling his book there. didn't he want us all to pay atleast 100 for SS1. haha, SS2 now due out Feb 1st 2005.

For online play, I really liked Killer Poker Online by John Vorhaus.

This book is totally different from other poker books. In fact, it doesn't tell you much at all about poker itself! I don't think there's even a single chapter about preflop or postflop play, check/raises, starting hands, or anything else that you see covered in other poker books.

Instead, it's all about the nature of being online and what it does to your mind. How to tell when you're not focused enough. Things to watch out for. How to set up your playing environment. Stuff like that. It also has recommendations for what sorts of tables to play, keeping your eyes peeled for better tables, keeping tabs on opponents, etc.

It's not in competition with what I think of as the "real" poker books. It's a supplement to them.

I got my copy from the library, so it was even free. I will probably buy a copy in the future as I play higher limits.

I am gonna try to get it tomorrow so when I'm done reading it and digesting all the information, I will try to post a full review of it. Really looking forward to it, SS1 was a truly great book.
