SSHE Gave it a quick refresher review and set out to take on 1/2 limit. ( actually I had been playing a little $.5/$1 limit at absolute and had some succes then moved up to $1/$2 at absolute. I then moved to Paradise and Ultimate Bet had similar results. Ok here goes I had a couple of bad sessions 1 at eurobet and 1 at ultimate bet. I found that I was raising with the apropriate hands but not hitting anything. then i found myself chasing with AK suited on a rag flop to be beaten by Ace rag. Last night I started on my prima site playing $1/$2 limit. playing the same way $50 buyin. when I was down to $12 I decided to limp more. I felt that A I was puting too much money in preflop when these raises did not ever appear to narrow the field. and B once I had put that money in with a pre flop raise ( a la no limit) i felt compelled to make continuation bets on the flop. I of course stll raised with very premium hands but found it more proffitable to slowplay many hands due to the over aggresive tendancys of some of the players at the table.( More importantly I started laying down more hand post flop) I ended up with a moderate profit after 150 or so hands. The same scenario repeated itself about 2 hrs later at Ultimate Bet but I just broke even.
I guess my question is at an agressive table where pre flop raises are not respected should I go into my passive trapping mode gaining agression as the hand develops? I fell like I am giving too much information with my pre flop raises and my opponents are waiting for a piece of rag flops and my continuation bet to hammer me.
Of course at a loose pasive or tight passive table I would still play my agressive game.
am i making any sense?
also a related question from a friend of mine that does not do much on the computer but play poker.
How do you play against opponents who only limp in to pots and will call many preflop raises with a wide variety of hands?Statistics: Posted by tarheel1 — Fri Jul 15, 2005 10:21 am
