The thing is, i have been laying down hands alot more lately- i am sick of being a calling station, even shorthanded. My showdown won% is like 51% or something like that, and i figure that even though i am showing a decent win rate since i tend to extract max value when my hand is good, and i pickup my share of pots on semibluffs, i figured i could save (and therefore make) some money if i just laid down those pocket Ts on that AKx board instead of call stationing.
In retrospect of course, piers and bri are right and i not only shouldve called the bet but shouldve raised, and MAN what a monster id have won with a bare TP/TK hand! I guess most of the time, if a mizor has a set, he is not going to fast play it, at least not like that guy did- the CR/3 bet REEKS of TP/TK, although godawful testicle that he is only had the OESD+2 overs (NIETHER of which were any good by the way, that mizor!)
I shouldve put him on AJ more likely than top 2 or a set, because that is exactly how id have played AJ-- and as far as a set goes, even I, who am a firm beleiver in jamming up sets for all they are worth from the get go, would not have played a set THAT fast because even though theres a straight draw on the board, unless someones got the 89 or QK openended, thier draw is not that strong and isnt terribly worrisome to a set.
Hell, i dunno. Hindsight is always 20/20 as they say, but thinkin more about it i probly should of called, as 10J or maybe KJ are the only hands I can legitimately put him on that have me beaten...and since i was 99% sure that niether of the callers had me beat, i shouldve called.
Ah well. I lay the best about once a month in general, and these days i am up to about four times a month Statistics: Posted by MecosKing — Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:50 pm
