just calling is a decent way to maximize profit since people will often fire the last barrel at you on the end, hoping you were on a draw, figuring that you probably wouldve raised somewhere along the way with a pair...Its a good way to play against someone who is really LAG, who could three bet your flop CR with overcards and fire it back into you with no pair. Against someone like this, i will do what you did.
Against a more conventional player I usually CR the flop here and lead the turn if he doesnt three bet me, because when my hand is as weak as yours is, i am both
(a) not really wanting him peeling cards off for cheap, and
(b) willing to lay it down if he turns the heat up on me (player dependent though)
Just inducing bluff bet after bluff bet is cool but i just think that that works better when your hand is stronger- trouble with 'just calling' is that you will often get a check behind on the turn which is a bad thing for your hand. Also, if he three bets you, or raises you up on the turn, i am usually willing to let this go, and i think that ultimately saves money.
So i dunno- i guess its player dependent.Statistics: Posted by MecosKing — Thu Sep 08, 2005 6:20 pm
