Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
4 folds, MP3 =(Slow Player)/ calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.
I have AT off in an unraised pot for free from the BB, I'll take it.
Flop: (3 SB) , , (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, Slow Player 3-bets, SB folds, Hero calls.
I probably should have just called the SB bet, but with 2 over, and the nut flush draw I felt this was a value raise. I doubted very much he had flopped the flush as I figured he would try to check raise. When the slow player 3 bet I figured I had to hit the flush card to win but the pot was growing, no way to fold here but maybe slow down.
Turn: (5 BB) (2 players)
Hero checks, Slow Player bets, Hero calls.
Well now I made the nutz and am trying to maximize my win. I figured if I bet out I might lose him, better check / call and then bet out on the river.
River: (7 BB) (2 players)
Hero bets, Slow Player calls.
Final Pot: 9 BB
Results in white below:
Hero has As Tc (flush, ace high).
Slow Player has Ad Ah (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 9 BB.
The poor guy should have raised pre flop. He was late enough that it would probably look like a steal and he would still get action for his big hand. It may not have mattered for this hand but hey, maybe I would lay down ATo.
Do you guys ever slow play AA late position or not and how did I play?
