I have money in Party which I'd like to withdraw, I deposited via Switch debit card. A while ago I lose said card and got issued another. New card now has a different issue number and security code on the back. I tried to withdraw and cross my fingers, it is the same bank account number after all, needless to say it didn't work. I got an e-mail from Party saying that the withdraw was unnsuccessful due to the change in card details and that the money has been recredited to my account.
I've tried to find a way to change my account details and it seems there's no way to do this, so I have this idea. I create an Empire account with my new debit card, in my name obviously and then just transfer the money over and then withdraw it. I guess this should work because to their system it will be a brand new card (yes?). Or I could just transfer it to my friends account and have him give me the money.
My thinking is that transfering it to a friend is the more suspicious of the two options. The thing I am really trying to avoid is setting off alarm bells, having account frozen and then having to post photocopies of everything halfway round the world.
I don't know if this is a factor but since I moved house a while ago, my new switch card has a different address than the original.
Anyone have any similar experiences or advice?

On a side note, I'm having the same problem with Crypto, phoned them and they said the only way to change card details was to have a balance of zero before they could change it. When I asked how I do this without withdrawing, the guy actually said "Well, you could either just keep the money in the account or SPEND IT (!)". I wanted to pass out when hearing that it was a good idea to spend 90% of my bankroll playing poker or just dumping it off at the casino. Eventually I got them to send me a cheque.Statistics: Posted by Molina — Tue Apr 12, 2005 4:16 am
