I am 26 and I rarely get carded but still the risk exists, if you happen to win a jackpot hand they ask for social secrutiy # and more ID, the risk just isn't worth the reward. There will still be plenty of action in a couple years when you are legal.
As for question about tells, I play home games with some good players and what I do is ask them if they can pick up tells on me, since the games are relatively low limit, most of the time they will tell me. Another good way to figure out your tells is everytime you pick something up on someone else try to see if you do this in the same situation.
A good example of this, a good player I was playing with at 2/5 in MGM, raises from the SB preflop, this has to mean he has a real hand. Flop comes AKK, he checks, as the flop came down he make an unhappy face and body motion. Now I know this guy is good enough that he could have killed the flop and be acting or he could have QQ -10's and really not be happy. The UTG makes a solid bet here, SB thinks and calls. Turn is another king, again SB checks, UTG bets $60 this time, SB calls. River is a 4. SB now takes his time and thinks for a while. Ding Ding Ding bells are now going off in my head, the river has no beaing on this hand, he has to have the K and is acting. He bets out $100 and gets called by a draw A. He has AK and the nuts. So what is important about this?? Well obviously I now know more about this player, that always helps, but it also made me look at my own play. Do I do the same thing out of postion with a monster?? I think I do, thinking back at my play and the next time I am in the same postion, I will play fast in order to not give off the same tell I saw in this player.Statistics: Posted by Rhound50 — Wed Jul 06, 2005 5:28 pm
