Tonight I fired up a couple tables of Party Poker Limit 1/2.
As soon as I got on my first table, I got QQ in the hole and thought cool, I'm gonna make some money on the first hand. I was in late position and raised it to $2 and got 4 callers. The flop comes down Qxx (suit not important) BB bets and I'm really thinking I'm gonna get some money from this hand now. BB opens the betting and gets called by at least one player before it gets to me. It finally gets to me and BAM! the software FUCKS ME OVER BUT GOOD!!!! It FOLDS my hand instantly without me ever doing a thing! I'm PISSED!! right about then my 2nd table opens up and I sit down at it and the same damn thing happens except I prolly would have lost that hand. All I lost was $1 of the 2nd one. At this point I'm fuming because this is like the umpteenth time this has happened to me in the last 2 months at Party and Empire. So I decide I'm going to call them up and demand that they give me the money I SHOULD have had a chance to win. Of course, I'm also thinking in the back of my brain that there no way in hell they are going to give me any money over this.
I was wrong.
I got on the horn with them and got some woman who sounded like she was from some country near the Indian ocean. At this point I really thought I was wasting my time because I had to have her slow down and say everything twice so that I could understand her. She asked me for the hand numbers and I gave them to her. She looked them up and said that it looked like I lost $2 on the first hand and $1 on the second and that it was because I had timed out. At this point I cry NAY NAY!!!! I did NOT time out, the software folded me instantly when it was my turn. So she goes and talks to the tech guys and then comes back to phone and proceeds to go into this long explanation about servers and crap like that which I probably would have been barely able to grasp had she been fluent in english let alone, errr, I'm getting off track.
Anyways, she finally says that she has been given the OK to credit my account for the $2. I told her I was not happy with that as if she would check the hand history again, she would see that I would definitely have won that $17 pot had I not been folded. The guy who did rake the pot did so with Ace high!!! She then says, "well, looking at your account, I see that you are a good customer so I will credit your account $10". I was floored. I never actually expected this to happen. I figured I would just be given the run around and then basically be told tough shit. Now, I know $10 isn't $17 or more that I would have won had I been able to play the hand, but I thanked for her time and she credited me instantly.
Thanks Party Poker. I'm pleasantly surprised.
Anyone else ever have something like this happen? Or is this not the usual outcome?
As for how to solve the software problem. This is what the software techs at Party told me to do. It seems to be working so far but we will see.
1. Uninstall the software
2. Clear internet cache and cookies from web browser
3. Restart computer
4. Download the software again
5. Re-Install, only this time do not install it in the default directory. Instead of C:/program files/Partypoker , change it to C:/Partypoker. Basically, when the little window comes up asking if you want to install it to the default directory, just highlight the first slashmark and the words "Program Files" then hit the backspace button. Continue with the installation like normal from here.Statistics: Posted by SebQtaneus — Tue Oct 11, 2005 8:49 pm
