You do learn a lot about reading the boar playing limit, but other than that NL and limit are two completely different games, my best suggestion to you would be to start by getting really good at one of them and then after you have had consistant sucess Peronsallly I hate limit, I get frusterated not really being able to protect my hand against a draw. I'm planning to take a few shots at NL soon. Most of my success has been in $10-$20 SNGs. Limit really hasn't done much for me to date, but I really think I need the experience of it. If anything, it really teaches patients and board analysis. Anyway, once my bankroll gets a little bigger I'll get in there on some NL too.

I like to play a little poker.
Since there are no casinos or legal card rooms in Texas I mostly play online. I do get out to Vegas 2-3 times a year as well as Louisiana to play at the boats. I'm strickly a low-roller, $3/6/12 and the like as well as MTT.I've been playing online for about 2 years. I started out on Pokerstars and still play there occasionally, but only SNGs and MTT. These days I spend most of my time at Party playing $1/2, $2/4 and $3/6 with an occasional SNG sprinkled in for fun. Recently I ventured over to the Crypto sites to try my hand at a little Bonus Whoring. What a miserable time! Non stop run of bad cards, bad luck, and bad decisions on my part. I think I'll just stick to Party thank you very much!!!
Anyway, I'm a member of a few other message boards but most of them have turned into way too much non-poker related material. I'm a huge student of the game and am very exicted about this forum. Hat's off to y'all for running this thing. I'm very interested in improving my LLH game as well as my SNG win rates. This board looks to be exactly what I was searching for. I look forward to reading future posts, submitting questions, and reading your thoughts and opinions.
