1) 50 hours of live poker in 4 days is a bitch. The last morning, I had about 4 hours before I had to go to the airport. I went down to the tables, looked at it and realized my brain was fried and I didnt play even though a guy was playing for 48 hours straight ans was donking off money at record pace.
2) I had a discussion with Adam about playing for a living and I came to the conclusion that if I was doing it, I would play two 10 hour days and two 5 hour days every week and take 3 days off. Thats 30 hours of poker per week. I think I could sustain that long term and not burn out. Table selection is HUGE in these live games and sometimes you have to move around a couple times per night. I would look to find the best game on Thur night and if I found the manaics, I would try to hit that casino again all weekend because alot of people come to Vegas from Thur-Sun and the tourist poker players tend to play in the same place all weekend.
3) I saw 3 hands with 3 flopped flushes
4) I saw 2 set over sets. Well, almost 2. There was one hand where UTG raised, got a call, the button was looking at his cards and the SB, who was the good young british guy saw the buttons cards. The Brit told him he saw his cards and folded his cards blind because he didnt want there to be a problem. The flop came down K73. It was a big pot with AK vs 33. After the hand the dealer told the Brit that he folded 77. It was the same Brit who got set over setted in the other one I saw. 88 vs TT on a AT8 flop. Lucky for him, the other guy misplayed it and the board got very scary and he didnt lose all that much because they were deep.
5) I can remember getting all in with cards to come 7 times. I figured the "sklansky bucs" on those hands and I Sklansky owes me $320.
6) I hit quads twice.
7) I can remember 9 sets. There may have been 1 or 2 more very small pots where I hit a set, but I can remember 9 for sure. I won them all. My calcuatiosn show I shouldve hit about 11 sets in the approx amount of hands I played so thats about right. Im glad I didnt lose any big pots with them.
8) I had KK vs AA once and QQ vs AA once. I didnt have AA vs KK (unless the guy folded KK and didnt tell me which i doubt)
9) My favorite games.
a) Overall , I still like MGM $2/$5 the best. During the daytime, its without question the best place to play because alot of the other rooms arent that bust during the early morning. The games here range from rockish to maniacal. Its all about table selection. I got table changes several times.
b) After about 8PM, the TI $1/$3 NL game with a $500 max buy in is nice. Its a tiny room, but the players are limptastic. They let me limp my speculative hands for $3, but I dont let them limp that much. I raised ALOT and when I raised, I played it like a 2/5 game and forced them to try to adjust. When they raised, it was $10 or $12, when I did it, it was $20 or $25 most of the time. Lots of short stack tourists who are clueless.
c) I liked the Ceasars $1/$3 game as well. The difference between this and the TI game is that I was getting 3-5 callers here with my $25 raises.
d) The Wynn 1/3 game sucks. They use $3 chips. UGH!. I didnt play the Wynn $2/$5 this time. I played it for short time last time and had no opinion other than I watched my brother in law (who asked me if a flush beats a straight before we sat down) win $500 in an hour.
e) Venetian room is awesome but I didnt get to play. It was too busy when i went there.
10) I got busted for a full stack twice and won a full stack twice.
a) A8 vs K8 on a A88xx board
b) AK vs 55 on a KKT4 board
c) [Jd][Td] vs [9d] on a [6d][7d][Qs] board
d) AT vs T4 on a TJT3 boardStatistics: Posted by iceman5 — Thu Jun 28, 2007 9:51 am
