This is my first post on this forum having stumbled upon it, and some of the articles, particularly by Iceman, are very good.
I've only been playing NLHE for about 9 months, I play a bit live in a cardroom too. My braggings are 5th and 6th in a 10k gteed MTT on Pacific and 1st in a 5k gteed MTT also on Pacific. However.........
I've recently entered the murky world of cash games and my bankroll, is up and down like a yo-yo.
I use Poker Edge to locate calling stations and loose passive players, yet can't seem to beat the lower limits, I play at $50 buy in, 25/50c blinds. I think sometimes I can make rash decisions, just the other day I flopped a set of 7s, on a 789 rainbow board and a guy went all in for $60 which I called, he showed down 88 and took the pot. I see now why he went all in, to save anyone drawing on straight but at the time, my adrenaline took over and it was like I couldn't wait to hit the "call" button.
Bearing in mind Pacific is arguably the best site for horrible players, suckouts are frequent and bad beats too, which I can deal with but does anyone have some advice they could give me on building a steady, slow bankroll, so I can move up a notch and try to get rewarded for my patience?
Alot to ask I know, but any info you guys could pass on would be very highly appreciated, there seems to be a hell of a lot of good, solid, successful poker players here and I would love to hear from anyone with any advice at all.
Sorry for the long winded post, thanks in advance and I look forward to chewing the poker fat with you guys.
