For those of you who dislike threebetting KJo in the sb I don't uaually do it, but at a passive table this was the only guy who knew enough to give the blinds a hard time so I felt I had to take some decent cards and stand up. KJ matches my criteria in that situation easily. The river is of course the question, should I bet it? An ace seems awfully probable, but then again, a reraise is almost as certain an indicator that I'm beat as a showdown. Comments?

This is a fun one, and a questionable one, but I feel I played it OK. Preflop is of course good and the flop as well. The final two streets aren't so clear cut. The villain in this hand is probably the worst player I have ever seen at 3/6. He has been super passive so far and that's why I slowed down the turn thinkin' he hit his kicker. On the river one might argue that his reraise states the flush, but I couldn't for the world give him credit for betting his backdoor flushdraw. Of course I got lucky, but could I play it any other way?

Hand 1

The 3-bet from SB is the correct play. A call pf gives the BB good odds to call with just about any two cards. The raise makes it easier to get the hand HU. As for the river, I agree with Xas... check-call. You are either way ahead or way behind.

Hand 2

I agree with Xas on this hand, too (no surpise... he's awesome). Just one thing to add -- some 2+2ers will often bet/raise scare cards (e.g., 3-flushes and paired boards) out of general principle. A lot of books recommend folding to a raise or reraise when scare cards hit, but I think that this advice is a bit dated. I'd only fold if I knew the player was an unimaginative rock.

Hand one I would probably bet that river. If you check and he bets you are going to call anyway so you might as well get that extra bet in there when he has a hand that you beat but won't bet the river with. I think it very unlikely that a player would raise here without at least an Ace so I wouldn't mind folding to a raise on the end after I bet unless it was Xas or MK doing the raising then I would likely three bet
