1/2 LHE on Empire Poker.
I have 10-6o in the BB. Table folds to the SB, who limps. I check.
Pot: $2
Flop: 7[h]8[d]9[h]
Wow. What a flop! Who flops a straight with triple gap cards?! I'm so good at this game
Anyways, the SB leads into me and I waste no time in raising him. He 3 bets me and I decide to call. This is a bit of a slowplay. If I cap it the flop I don't think he'll lead into me again on the turn, which I very much want him to so that I can raise him again. If he has a normal draw betting up the flop does nothing but give him further has odds to draw and if he has a straight draw AND a flush draw then there is no way I can take away his odds so I might as well do some more betting on an expensive street to charge him more.
Pot: $8
Turn: 3[s]
Blank! Excellent. As I hoped the SB leads back into me and I raise him. He thinks for a bit and then just calls.
Pot: $16
River: 8[h]
I don't really care for that river card! If he had a heart draw he just got there, if he had 2 pair, there is a good chance he just boated. He checks to me. I wonder what I do here. It is heads up and I'm with the blind so I'm not really going to look for monsters under the bed and check behind him because I'm afraid he just made a hand that beats me, I'm more concerned about if I get a call from a hand like top pair on the flop (which he very well might 3 bet me with on the flop, because who flops a straight?). Do you think TP would call 1 more BB on the river with 8 BBs already in the pot coming into the river with an inferior hand that doesn't have me beat? If he would call with something like top pair then I think it is an easy bet to make here, but otherwise it is a very poor bet.
Thoughts?
