I fold preflop without a second thought. However, if I do play the hand, I would have to raise at some point to try to force you off the hand like if you had an underpair. By just calling it down, you only win by having the best hand which is unlikely with what he is holding. Even if he hits an ace, he doesn't know if its good. I think this was a bad hand and he got lucky that this time you didn't have an ace or even KQ. Almost any other time, he either won't catch his ace and lost 2BB or more in a hand he should have much or lose even more when he catches an ace and you have him out kicked.

Okay Brian - now - play it from my position with TT.

On the flop, if he doesn't raise a bet - you are certain he doesn't have a king. On the turn though - a queen is possible.

How would you play it then?

It depends on my read on the other player but he seems to have calling station tendencies (at least for this hand) so Ax wouldn't be out of the question. What other hands would you put him on? 9x? JT, 78 or some sort of gutshot? AJ or AQ? It would seem if you are beat on the turn, you were likely beat on the flop or your opponent was making a very loose and unwise flop call.

Half the time I bet the turn and half I check fold. In this case, I would probably check/fold but it is a tough decision and I could go either way. An underpair against a guy that is giving you no information is hard to play. The check/fold on the river is definitely necessary but if your friend keeps playing like that, I want him in my game because I will take his money.
