Being able to put people on hands is one of the most important skills necessay to become an excellent limit player. Playing tight and agressive will put you in the black most likely but being able to extract extra bets from opponents because of your ablity and their lack of ability to read hands is one of a few things that separates good limit players from great limit players. Analysing your own hands as well as others and asking yourself how could I have played this hand better is a key to becoming a better player. If you are in the trenches long enough these analyses can be performed very rapidly because you will have dealt with the same type of hand and situation many many times. With so much literature available now a person can really short cut his way to being a decent player but no book can give you the all important ingredient of experience in live combat at the tables.
