Okay me and this guy had been havin a serious pissing contest since a hand where i 4 bet him on the turn with a flush draw and got there (Good times!) - he was not a tricky player really though, and really wasnt very good. He played too many hands preflop, especially for a raise, and wasnt aggressive enough. He was about 34% VP (little loose) and about 1.5 PFA (not passive but not that aggressive). He cold called too much in my opinion. Here is the hand:

As you can see from the chatbox, i was pretty sure i was toast. However, i wouldnt put it past him to call my PF raise with ace / rag, but then again i wasnt totally sure if hed do that.

Should i have called here?

His call on the flop is pretty worrisome to me. I figure if he called with some Ax then he would have popped you right then to see were he was standing in my opinion, same with the flush draw probably as well but in the absence of this raise I am VERY leery of a Queen here. And even with all this in my mind I don't know if I could have laid this down on the river.

The diamond screws you here on the turn. If the diamond doesn't come off on the turn I am leading again on the turn and if I get raised then I would muck (I am not checking the turn because I think he has the flush because I don't believe he does the way he played it but I am checking because I want the cheapest possible way to crack his very likely 3 queens and if you lead here he is very likely going to pop it up and cost you an extra bet to try and catch your 11 outer.

Yeah i agree the diamond made things a but harder. It made the turn call an easy one, rather than one that would put me in the tank for awhile. However, the reason i checked was not really because of that so much as it was because i felt he was gunning for me, and I didnt want to give him the chance to pop the turn, thus putting me to a tough decision...I did not want to muck to him raising the turn either on a move with a hand like or buying a free showdown with an Ax type hand and forcing me to muck what might be the best hand. Does that make any sense?

In retrospect though, he wasnt really the type of player to make that type of move, so i probably could have safely mucked the river here. Ah well. Another BB down the toilet, eh?
