I find $1/2 at Party about the most difficult level to win at. I'm up huge at $.50/1.00 just like you. I also have great success at $2/4! But $1/2, well, it's a bonus whore's paradise. It has the best bonus clearance rate at Party, so during any reload period, you are playing all the folks that post on the various forums, here, 2+2, BonusWhores, FBG, etc. So you really end up going against a table half full of fish (result=suckout) and half full of surprisingly good players. I just did the latest reload at the NL tables for that very reason.

I have never seen such loose-aggressive play in my life... that 1/2 shit is crazy variance! People are betting and raising every draw imaginable. You end up with top-2-pr or a set against someone betting and raising a gutshot or backdoor flush draw with a pair. Against three or fewer players this isn't that bad. But when there's five or more people out there with all these draws, nearly half the deck cripples you. And I just got the shit end of the variance when I was in there with my draws... missing 12+ out draws I picked up on the flop. Nothing on the turn and nothing on the river.

I played another 500 or so .5/1 hands and did great! I also cleared the bonus, so I'm "up" at least. I wish I stopped playing the 1/2 much earlier. I would have had another $100 or so.

Right now...

10.5 BB/100 on .5/1 (1500 hands) which is something like $130.

1/2 ...... -$180
.5/1...... +$130
BONUS +$150
-----------------
PROFIT +$100

I think I'm going to stick with the .5/1s.

Buckeye hit it right on the head. 1/2 is bonus whoring land. To begin with, I hate Party, and have this mental block against winning there, so I avoid it like the plague.

However, the variance at these tables through my observations is just enormous. Clear it at 0.50/1--save the aggravation.

If 1/2 at PP is basically unbeatable, where should someone go to play 1/2. I'm working at Euro .5/1, when it's time for me to move up should I skip 1/2 and go to 2/4 or is there another site that has a beatable 1/2 ?

No need to skip it -- it's quite beatable. You can't make the killing that you can make at the $.50/1, but just use good table selection and you'll do fine.

I didn't notice much of a difference in the play between $1/2 and $2/4.

i have a healthy winrate at 1/2 but have much more trouble at 2/4 and 3/6. 1/2 is the prime place for me.

1/2 has always been my hex limit. It just seems the mix if play is bad. In 0.50/1 while it might be suck out central the flip side is when you hit hands you tend to get paid off better. At 1/2 I found you still get killed on your good hands but the pay offs aren't as big when you hit.

Personally I found 2/4 was easier though since you started to get players who were either pretty good or really bad so its easy to make adjustments on a hand by hand basis.
