I came out betting on the flop for 2 reasons. One, I was last to act and therefor with it checked to me it is possibe, however unlikely, that all would fold to my bet. The other reason was with the ace, if noone had a Jack and that's a big if, I was trying to set up seeing the turn for free. Any problems with this thinking?

I got my ace, but something told me to check here. maybe I felt someone was slowplaying trips, but something told me to check the turn and check/call the river.

And that turn and river is why you don't slowplay in my opinion. Any raise on the flop and I'm done and gone quickly. If they come out betting the turn I have to think hard about staying since I had a kicker issue to deal with and that was if they did not flop trips. If they had bet this hard from the gate, I would have never won this hand.

i can't say that his play was that bad and never to slowplay. This is just one of the few times someone runner, runnered him. If you had bet the turn and not hit the river, he could have gotten 3 big bets out of you. If you were a normal player, he definitely would have, maybe even more.
