Agreed. The one thing that would get my radar zinging here is that this guy is sitting with about 40 bucks on a 100 buy in table. This means that (most likely) he's a chancer who'll buy in a little short and push hard on any hand he thinks has a chance, or he's a new player who is playing scared money at this level, or he's a decent player who's taken a couple of hits and is unwilling to reload (i.e. he could have his nose open a little). That would just about persuade me that it's a smart move to go back over the top of him. I don't know if you meant "he raised another 12 bucks" or "he raised TO 12 bucks", i.e. raised another 7 on top. If it's the former, it'll cost a little more to play (and get burnt by AA/KK), whereas if it's the latter you're getting nigh on 2-1 odds to move in on him here, so you might as well just do so. Most likely he has QQ/KK/AA but if there's a chance he has a JJ or lower pair that he'll be willing to fold after "testing" you, or AQ that he's venting into, then perhaps moving in is the best move. Marginal either way, I wouldn't lose any sleep over this one.
