The guy is obviously a scumbag, but after everything ive read about what he said about that 2002 playoff game, I believe him. The players and coaches themselves were complaining like crazy after that game about how bad the officiating was.

Theres also been rumors for years about the NBA hinting to officials that they shouldnt call certain fouls on star players. Guys like Jordan travel half the time they touch the ball but the NBA doesnt want those calls made against the stars because star players are what sell the league.

I lived in Sacramento in 2002. This allegation doesn't surprise anyone there. Most already believed it, but this puts some real teeth and justification to it. I don't care if he is a convicted felon - sometimes they tell the truth, and they are more likely to have knowledge of nefarious goings on.

Look at it this way- he doesn't have much (if anything) to back this up. Which means he's probably not lying. If he were making false claims that he can't back up he'd be running a very serious risk of digging his hole even further, but if he's making true claims without backup it's a different story- he's at least got the truth on his side. So I believe it.

personally, i think he's full of it. interesting reasoning KJ...

there's a huge difference b/w one sh**ty corrupt official (or perhaps just sh**ty officials) and a league ordering results, which would be just really monumentally stupid. that said, a lot of ppl are going to believe this douche just b/c he's saying what they want to hear. and that's a huge problem for the nba. but i don't believe donaghy any farther than i can throw him b/c it's easy poo to fling right now.

p.s. - (who makes his living betting on the NBA and you may remember from such programs as thet WPT and HSP)

Wow, Haralabos isn't very impressed with Doc Rivers as a coach...makes it sound like he's the worst in the league. I remember that game and it was an abomination...but as Haralabos points out...6 of the fouls were at the very end in an attempt to extend the game and this was the Hack-a-Shaq era. And Vlade was quite the flopper (which some refs don't like).
