Can someone who is good at math figure out how it is possible that Xas picked 7 out of 20 horses and not a single one of them cashed? Really, what are the odds?

you would have to know how good each horse is.

but assuming they all are equal it is about a 25% chance

It's late and I'm tired, but I'm getting 12.1% chance of not hitting anything assuming all the horses have an equal chance. It'd probably be even more laughably low if you took all the odds at the time, normalized them, and then did it again, but that seems like an awful lot of work just to make fun of Jamie.

total combinations with 20 horses

x=20! = 2.43E+18

combinations without 7 horses finishing 1,2,3

y=13*12*11*17!=6.1E+17

y/x=25%
