Welcome Arc, I a newbee here.
My home is near Hamburg about 120 km from there.
In Hamburg are 2 casinos where they play Poker. Many people know each other
there.
In former times I was often there for Blackjack.
Now I switched over to Online Poker, in the moment not very successful.
Maybee we could meet us in Hamburg. I know some nice people in Hamburg
in the casinos.

Good Job Arc.

You are going to love online. I would start at slightly lower limits because of the speed. Also put Poker Tracker and PAHUD / GT+ on your list. They are as necessary Neteller in my opinion.

Well just as i knew it would happen... it happened. After 4-5 sessions of basically no cards or pocket pairs today.... i had a frickin' barrage of PP's in 5 hours.

KK - 2
JJ - 3
99 - 8
88 - 5
77 - 2
66 - 4
44 -2
33 -1

I also hit 6 sets today. Unfortunately i never made it to the flop for 2 of the sets due to reraises and 2 of them i made absolutely no money on.

3-5 NL

First hand of the day i'm dealt i get AK in the CO and i raise to 25. 2 callers.

Flop - A-K-3, 2 hearts.

I bet 50, button calls

Turn - [4h]

I check button bets 50 i min raise to 100. Button calls.

River - blank

I check, button checks and shows [6h] [5h] for the flush. I played this pretty badly and am already down a quick $175. Nice.

So than i decide instead of reloading i'm going to try to play the short stacked strategy that Iceman posted with $125.

But after winning a couple pots with marginal hands i was back up to $250 and had to forgo that strat.

In a limped pot with 66 UTG, the flop came 10-10-6 with 2 clubs. Unfortunately it got checked to the river of which i couldn't bet since the 3rd 10 came. Won a grand total of $14 on that hand. Awesome.

Than about 15 minutes later i caught fire.

Hand #1

On the button i have KK. I raise to $35, 2 callers.

Flop ~ K-6-2r

Checks around

Turn ~ 4, checks to me, i bet $35, everyone folds. Bah.

Hand #2

In the CO i have 77. MP raises to $25, 2 callers, i call.

Flop A-J-7r.

MP checks, next player bets $50, i smooth call, MP check raises all in for $170 total. Original better folds i call and beat his AK.

Hand #3
In the CO+1 i have 99. I limp Button raises to $30 and one caller in MP. I consider mucking it here because what are the chances of hitting 3 sets in a row? But i say forget it and throw in $25 more.

Flop: [9h] [7s] [6s]

MP checks, i check, Button bets $100. MP goes all in for about $200. Button only has about $120 left so i push all in.

Right when i push MP asks me, "you have a straight?". And than i have to remind him that there is still another person in the hand (he was a young asian guy who constantly was trying to guess other players hands out loud - he also was trying to get too cute with some of his hands).

Anyways the button thinks and thinks and thinks and shows me his 88 with a spade and finally folds. After he folds i turn to the young guy and say, "set over set right?"

Than he curses and says yep and shows his set of 7's.

River came 9 to give my quads. It was just unfortunate that for the most part the table was short stacked and i couldn't really win a whole lot.

I just wish i wasn't so stinkin' tired. I was playing well and i had good control of the table. I had 2 players at the table fold vastly superior hands to me when i bet and basically any check raise i made i got a fold.

Anyways i ended up the session up $620 in 5 hours. I am kind of bummed because if this would have been a good table it couple have easily been a $2K+.

Man... what a pain in the ass.

Postby Arc » Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:07 pm

After going through all the hoops to get to online play i am finally here... and man what a pain. I must be getting old and impatient.

Starting online BR - $1000.
Sites - PP

Being the lazy ass that i am and not wanting to go through getting PT yet i decided to start my online career. I truly was a little lost at first figuring out what to do and how to do it but i think i'm okay now.

0.50/1.00 NL FR

I played a whole mighty 22 raked hands before i decided that i was completely retarded and lame to be playing without PT.

I played a total of 2 hands not in my blind with A7s and AJs and won both pots.

The A7s was my first hand and i limped in MP. The pot was $4 and the flop came A-x-x (2 hearts). So the moment of truth arrived.... Time to bet!

And being lame and not knowing how to bet, i bet the mighty minimum on accident and bet $1 into a suited board. I'm... so... freakin....awesome.... But everyone folded so i guess if there was a time to underbet a pot... this was the time.

That slider thingy is really weird... how you can get an accurate bet in is beyond me.

Anyhow i am now waiting for my PT registration to go through and will try again once PT is up. I guess i need to read up on some of those PT articles.

I also managed a quick B&M session this weekend and managed a crappy $30 win. Woo... Hoo... Break out the champagne.

Thanks guys. Slider is a definite no go, although i see that many people like to use it.

Still no PT but i wanted to try again.

0.50/`1.00 NL FR
So i was playing at one table and than i decided to try to multi 2 tables.

3rd hand on the 2nd table i catch KK (heart starts thumping) and think... nice....

And on the 1st table i catch KQs. And both hands start beeping... Great. Anyhow long story short i folded the KQs to a raise and unfortunately my KK ended up being against AA.

Straight awesomeness. So Arc officially loses his first buy-in within 40 raked hands. I am so awesome. Fear me.

I also accidently folded my BB and SB once because i hit auto-fold. Ah well, i'll just attribute it to the learning curve or just my ineptness.

Anyways i crawled back in the next 60 hands or so and ended up only losing $12.97. It really is kind of weird for me playing for such low amounts though.

I think i just got my ass-handed to me today. And i got to tell you when you are the ass-kickeree it ain't no fun.

So i've been messing with PT today and i have PokerAce but i haven't yet figured out how to make that work. I've been mostly figuring out how to do the filters (core, marginal, junk) etc.

My current stats have me as a TPA for 700 hands.

22.57 / 5.29 / 2.81

Hmmm... my AF-Total seems kinda high there, i thinkith i continuation bet too much.

Well onto the fun stuff. Lets start off with the mistakes.

0.50/1.00 NL FR (2 tables)

10-3o in the SB. Wasn't paying attention and someone raised it to $5.00 and i accidently called. *sigh*

Anyhow i think that was my only non-playing mistake of the day.

So my total losses for junk hands are -($46.30)

$19 of it was with A5o (i raised $4 PF and bet the flop, checked the turn, and called the river bet of $10 with a board of J-J-5-5 and lost to J-2o) That was a dumb play. I really don't know what i was thinking. Oh i know what i was thinking. That i'm a dumbass.

And $4.50 of it was my accidental call with 10-3o.

No more raising PF with junk hands (that is actually what is attributing to that high total + Continuation bets afterwords).

The grand total of my raping today was -$232. But rather than complain i will just post some pertinant stats.

AA - Times(5) Net(140.91) Avg/Hand (28.18)

KK - Times(4) Net(92.65) Avg/Hand (23.16)

JJ - Times(1) Net(32.00) Avg/Hand (32.00)

AA - got stacked twice with a set and a flopped 2 pair.
KK - KK vs. AA for a stack
JJ - Lost to AJs on the turn.

Soooooo, i'm not feeling that i'm playing badly, except that i should have gotten away from one of the AA hands when the other person flopped a set.

Party Poker... do you hate me?

Postby Arc » Wed Mar 01, 2006 12:19 am

Seriously i am really starting to get weirded out by online poker. Yeah, yeah, i've heard all the conspiracy theories and have taken it with a grain of salt. But man. Personally in my 1100 hands i've been in there have been three AA vs. KK hands and one KK vs. QQ. Yeah small sample but i've also received AA's 10 times as well. That seems kinda high.

BUT... it's just a small sample and i think i'm just irritated with how my session went AGAIN. And i honestly can't even say i played bad. I had my AA's beat for the 3rd time today. This time all the money went in preflop vs. KK. And of course a K comes on the flop. Stacked.... again for $120.

This completely gay hand happened quite early in my session.

Stack sizes:
UTG: $230.73
UTG+1: $102.92
MP1: $29.50
Hero: $94
MP3: $48.10
CO: $94
Button: $91.75
SB: $97.35
BB: $61.05

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with J♦ J♠
3 folds, Hero raises to $4, MP3 raises to $7, CO folds, Button calls $7, 2 folds, Hero raises to $15, MP3 calls $8, Button calls $8.

Flop: 7♠ 9♣ 4♥ ($46.5, 3 players)
Hero bets $35, MP3 calls all-in $33.1, Button folds.
Uncalled bets: $1.9 returned to Hero.

Turn: 3♣ ($112.7, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $112.7)

River: 4♦ ($112.7, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $112.7)

Results:
Final pot: $112.7
Hero shows Jd Js
MP3 shows As 4c

Hurray for the river. Anyhow i ended up being short-stacked at $28 a little later and started to play the short stack strat.

So i get it all in with QQ and hurray i'm up against KK.

AA's, KK's and JJ's are killing me.

But i'll look on the positives.
- All my plays i lost big on were +EV.
- I didn't go on tilt at all
- My junk hands +/- was exactly at 0.00. (thanks to PT and Excessions articles i cleaned this up)
- My top 7 losses are all with pocket pairs JJ and higher.
- Top losses #8 and #10 i had two pair with 8-10 (funny enough) and lost to a straight and i had to fold when my two pair got counterfeited on the river.
- Top loss #9 i had AQ and lost to a set when i flopped a Q.

I think i need to hit a B&M.
