On the flop I said to myself my hand is really weak so lets see if I can fill up. Then on the turn I actually said to myself be careful someone could have slowplayed a flopped boat. Then, I had a massive brain fart when the bad player came over the top of me.

honestly, i've become a real wussy with underboats oop in loose games precisely due to situations like this. typically you will win a small pot or lose a big one.

then again, i really love it when the donkeys pay me off.

if you start trying to show these down cheaply (esp. when oop), i think you'll find your BB/100 will take a nice bump in loose games. i think avoiding getting stacked in situations like this is one of the big differences between a 10-15 bb/100 player and a 20+ bb/100 player.

First played a full ring O8 game in which I got sucked out a bunch of times. Then I got SHed against a very good player and had to frequently change gears. It was a lot of fun but I keep taking a bunch of small pots then lossing a large one with large hand over large hand. I was on the wrong side of trips, big kicker twice.

All in all not a bad day for PLO8 but it could have been better.

LO8 is a whole different story. I have been playing as a side game to my PLO8 game and I don't know if I am not paying enough attention or I am just card dead but here are my stats for the month.

It looks like I am playing a little weak tight but a W$SF of 20 is low even for a weak tight player. Also a BB/100 of -4.7 is going to make me basically break even with the bonus whoring. Not good. Not good.

Even with the setback today playing PLO8 and the crappy month playing LO8 I am still on pace to hit all of my goals (except the SnG). Just need about 10 more hours with the winrate that I currely have and I should get there.

Great journal. I used to read your NLHE journal and got a lot from it. The same applies to this journal. Love all the hands that you post.
Wish I had more time to post my hands but a wife and 3 kids under 3 years old keeps me pretty busy. I either have an hour to play or an hour to post.
Anyway thanks for the time that you put into this journal. Between you and the Monk I have learned more about online Omaha in all its forms that any book that I have read.
