A good winning PLO8 session, yeh! I played a miniscule amount better today, I played with a little more patience and control, so I think I am ready to step up. My big money making hands were 2 semi-bluffs with the turned nut low and I rivered TPTK. Thinking what the hell lets continue the semi-bluff and both times I got a called and 3/4ed someone and scooped someone else.
I made two minor mistakes. Once I made a full pot bet on the river which caused my opponent to fold, and now I realize he would have called a 1/2 - 2/3 pot bet. Another mistake was to make a CB OOP against a manic who had been raising everything. Alas, if these are the only mistakes I will make in 300 hands I think I am playing pretty well.
A couple of rants
- I don’t think party is that juicy. Maybe I am just playing at the wrong times, but right now I only see 8 games none of which has an average pot of > $8. When I quit I was playing 4 tables all with average VP$IP of under $40. It was a total rock fest.
- Why can’t I ever keep a SHed game at party. I sit down play HU for about 10 hands then someone sits down and we play 3 way for another 10 hands. Then someone else sits down and around 5 hands later the table will be full. This really isn’t enough time to get the feel for someone and to really exploit them.
Anywho, the plan for tomorrow is to try and play 1 $100 or $50 table and 2 $25 tables. The table algorithm (I know I am a nerd) is as follows
- Look for some SHed WillHill $100 and buy in short
- else look for some FR WillHill $100 and buy in full
- else no FR look for some $50 Party tables
- else no $50 tables look for some $100 Party tables
- Fill in with $25 Party tables
