Your went to showdown and your high aggression numbers by street make me think so... That means you're not calling around 5-6% of the hands you should maybe call...

But hey, I base this on my own stats and how I(!) play so it's rly nothing to take to srsly I think...

First day at the 200s TR:

Image

200s are very similar to the 100s on stars, a little more aggressive. Played a little tighter than usual, maybe a little too concerned with the larger bet amounts, but got more comfortable towards the end. On the 4th hand i got stacked with AQs vs JJ AIPF blind v blind against a very aggressive regular i played against at the 100s. Flopped a flush on a Kxx board against KK and held, rivered a few straights, etc.

Overall, pretty excited to be playing 1/2 with a proper stack.

Well its been quite a while, so i feel i owe an update.

Poker has been going very well for me. I ended up March up about 2.2k, easily my best month of poker ever. I even dropped about 800 on my last session too, i was cruising for a 3k month until that.

I have made the transition to 1/2 pretty well. I play pretty tight (18/14) overall. There are a handful of good regulars that I try to avoid but for the most part the players arent any better than at .5/1 (maybe even worse, is that possible?)

I am really happy that I have stuck to my BR strategy and have also not tried to cash out any of my BR while moving up. Now I am in position to make real money, and also be comfortable enough to deal with losing streaks.

Also, by the end of the month i am going to redeem my FPPS for 2 1k gift certificates from OneCall.com and buy an HDTV, probably an LCD. I have never really owned a 'nice' TV so this is pretty exciting. I looked at redeeming the points for cash, but at my level (gold star) it doesnt make sense, since i am looking at buying a TV either way.

This month has gone exceedingly well so far. Only 3k hands in, but i am up about 1.5k and playing really well IMO. Even lost this one today:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

MP ($185)
CO ($234.05)
Hero ($208.85)
SB ($215.60)
BB ($98.10)
UTG ($196.75)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [3d], [3c].
3 folds, Hero raises to $8, SB calls $7, 1 fold.

Flop: ($18) [3h], [Jc], [Kh] (2 players)
SB bets $2, Hero raises to $16, SB calls $14.

Turn: ($50) [Kd] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $40, SB raises to $80, Hero raises to $184.85, SB calls $104.85.

River: ($419.70) [9h] (2 players)

Final Pot: $419.70

Results in white below:
SB has Ks 9s (full house, kings full of nines).
Hero has 3d 3c (full house, threes full of kings).
Outcome: SB wins $419.70.

Sometimes i wish that i could play more, but 25-30 hours/month seems to be all that i can get in. However, only playing that much keeps me fresh, enjoying the game, and playing at optimal times. So maybe that is best.

Cant be upset with a $150 winning session tho.

This one was great:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (4 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

UTG ($471)
Button ($61.65)
SB ($304.50)
Hero ($265.75)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [7c], [2s].
1 fold, Button calls $2, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($6) [2h], [7s], [7h] (3 players)
SB bets $4, Hero raises to $16, Button folds, SB calls $12.

Turn: ($38) [9h] (2 players)
SB bets $28, Hero raises to $108, SB raises to $286.5, Hero calls $139.75 (All-In).

River: ($533.50) [Th] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $533.50

Results in white below:
SB has Ah 3h (flush, ace high).
Hero has 7c 2s (full house, sevens full of twos).
Outcome: Hero wins $533.50.

$500+ pot with 27o. Nice. BR is nearing 8k.

Okay so i signed up and started watching a few videos at Leggo poker. Im not sure why i hadnt done this before, but i think it is going to make a big difference. So far just watching carrotsnake and bobbos vids at nl200 and 400. I have played about 2k hands since, bumped my stats up to about 22/19 instead of 18/13 and am really trying hard to look for more good spots to be aggressive.

Had a great session today...about 800 hands up $188, ran about 200 under EV and won over 300 on non-showdown pots. I made 2 river calldowns that in hindsight were really stupid in hindsight. I think it will be a learning process as playing a lot more aggressively is going to get some much different plays from my opponents.

Really looking forward to some more vids...anyone got any in particular to suggest?

Running about 1.1k under ev this month, but still doing great, only losing .6ptbbs in non showdown pots, which is a huge improvement.

Bought a 46 inch LCD HDTV with FPPS (through OneCall.com, which is HIGHLY recommended)

Bobbo's vids on Leggo are very helpful. I have been playing really solid poker over the last few weeks in my opinion.

Cavs are up 3-1 and Boston lost a game to Atlanta. At least i can get my hopes up!

Bankroll is above 8k for the first time ever.

Overall, life is pretty good right now.
