Xas, hand two I think it was, you have JJ and he gets runner runner for a straight. What was your thinking behind this (i.e. your read that he didn't have an ace?)

You figured pre flop he'd fold A2-AQ, push AK, so it was unlikely villian had an ace in that spot?

Well today's session went a great deal better than yesterday's. To be a fair journalist I will be posting big pots I won today (although I'm biased, so they will be sick value bets and bluffs, not coolers etc.)

Today's session was weird, I made a decent amount of hands, but not enough to win 5 buyins in 1533 hands (what I did). But I felt like I had a lot of big pots sitting in front of me on the river when my opponent didn't have a hand they could call with, and I took full advantage. Enjoy.

This was sort of a neat one. He tanked for a loooong time before calling the river.

I had a pretty bad image at this table so I decided to overbet shove the turn. He tanked and called. It feels good to have things go "the way they should."

First two things I've cooked in my new apartment.



Mixed greens with a light mustard dressing (brown mustard, honey, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil). Roasted grapes and cherry tomatoes. Toasted slivered almonds. Seared sea scallops.



Coconut scallop ceviche.

Quickly boiled (only 2 minutes) some scallops and then dropped em in an ice bath after. This cooked them to a steak equivalent of medium rare.

Sauted some garlic and ginger in olive oil. Added coconut milk and coconut juice/water. Added some black peppercorns (cause I wanted to add freshly ground black pepper at the end, but I don't yet have a peppermill at my new apartment HYACHACHAYCAHCA). Cooked it till it smelled so good I wanted to punch myself in the face. Cooled it, added lime juice and salt. Sliced some cherry tomatoes. Voila.
