Well I actually had a win tonight, up $43 at a 2BB/100 pace, and cleared the bonus. So I had the pleasure of losing $340 to clear $150. Fun stuff.

Being busy at work and my bad streak conspired to give me a two week break from all things poker (well, most things poker as I still hung around BTP occasionally). I decided tonight was a good time for my triumphant return, so I spent a little while 3-tabling the $2/4 at Party, and was up $162 after about 300 hands. I sure wish it was always this easy!

Anyway, hopefully this is an indicator that the streak is over:
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Kc], [Kd].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 3-bets, MP3 calls, Hero caps, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (20 SB) [6d], [9d], [Jc] (5 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 raises, MP3 calls, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 caps, MP3 calls, Hero calls, BB calls.

Turn: (18.50 BB) [2s] (4 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, MP1 calls $6.50 (All-In), MP3 calls, Hero raises, MP3 calls.

River: (25.37 BB) [5c] (3 players, 1 all-in)
Hero bets, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 27.37 BB

Results:
Hero has [Kc] [Kd] (one pair, kings).
MP1 has [3h] [6h] (one pair, sixes).
MP3 has [Jh] [Qs] (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 27.37 BB.

Things are pretty hectic right now, between work, having a couple friends in town for the 4th of July, and my 10 year high school reunion this weekend. My friends hadn't ever played poker in a casino, so Tuesday I gave them a 1 hour lesson and we headed up to Ocean's 11 to play some $1/2 together. They were pretty raw, but by virtue of their starting hand selection they were the second and third best players at the table :). Unfortunately the cards didn't fall well for them, so they ended down for the night. I ended up a whopping $6.50.

I also made a deposit at Party on Tuesday, and put in 370 hands tonight (200 raked) towards the bonus. I had a solid session and ended up $57.50 on a 3.9BB/100 pace. I probably won't finish the bonus before I head up to Oregon for the reunion, so I'll have to take my laptop with me and borrow my brother's connection for a bit.

Squeezed in another 470 hands, 280 of them raked, for an $11 profit. It was nice to finish up in the black though, as I was down most of the session. I have about 220 raked hands to go for the bonus, which I'll have to finish in Oregon, as my flight is early tomorrow morning.

This was a nice hand towards the end that put me over the top:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Js], [As].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls, SB calls.

Flop: (10 SB) [Ac], [2c], [Ts] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls, SB folds.

Turn: (6.50 BB) [5h] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls.

River: (9.50 BB) [8h] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Results:
Hero has [Js] [As] (one pair, aces).
UTG+1 has [6d] [Ad] (one pair, aces).
MP3 has [2h] [Qd] (one pair, twos).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.50 BB.

With only my tiny laptop screen to play on I moved down to the $1/2 to finish the bonus. The AutoHotkey script came in really handy for dealing with the overlap (as did the X-mouse UI tweak). I ended down $60 on a pretty crappy run of cards and suckouts, along with 1 or 2 silly plays of my own. So I was up $10 overall clearing the $100 bonus.

My brother is off taking his dental boards today, so I think I'll take him out to dinner tonight. Tomorrow the whole family goes to his "white coat" ceremony, signifying that he'll be doing dental work on patients now as part of the curriculum.

Well, it seems I've been away from poker for a month. Work got pretty crazy in preparation for London, and then I ended up not getting to go -- we were so close to the wire that I had to stay home and work so my boss actually had something to present. Sucks, but hopefully I'll get to go in the near future.

I returned to the tables tonight to chase this month's $100 bonus. Since I had most of my bankroll in Party already, and Full Tilt was slow on cashing out, it's actually going to be a $94.60 bonus (more specifically, according to Party, $94.600000001 -- glad they're keeping track of that billionth of a cent for me).

I was definitely a little rusty -- kept forgetting to look at the aggression factor when I got raised. This one should have been an easy fold, as the guy who 3-bet had very low aggression numbers:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with [Kd], [Ks].
UTG calls, 4 folds, Hero raises, CO calls, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) [9d], [6h], [7s] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, CO calls, BB folds, UTG calls.

Turn: (5.75 BB) [2s] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, CO raises, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, CO calls, UTG calls.

River: (17.75 BB) [4h] (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls, CO folds.

Final Pot: 19.75 BB

Results in white below:
UTG has Tc 8c (straight, ten high).
Hero has Kd Ks (one pair, kings).
Outcome: UTG wins 19.75 BB.

Probably shouldn't have started out 4-tabling it. But I managed to make a few nice hands and ended up $20, about a quarter of the way through the bonus.

A nice day today as I manged to win $86 despite some rather silly suckouts on my aces.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Ah], [Ad].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 5 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) [Tc], [2c], [4s] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) [9s] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls.

River: (8.75 BB) [Ks] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10.75 BB

Results
UTG+1 has [9h] [9d] (three of a kind, nines).
Hero has [Ah] [Ad] (one pair, aces).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins 10.75 BB.
-----
Less than 10 minutes later:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Ac], [Ad].
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) [7s], [3c], [Td] (3 players)
UTG checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) [8h] (2 players)
MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls $3 (All-In).

River: (8.50 BB) [9s] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

Results
MP2 has [8c] [8s] (three of a kind, eights).
Hero has [Ac] [Ad] (one pair, aces).
Outcome: MP2 wins 8.25 BB. Hero wins 0.25 BB.
------
And then there's this beauty -- not sure what he thought I had:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Ac], [As].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 4 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) [2s], [Ks], [Qh] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) [Ts] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls.

River: (7.25 BB) [9c] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Results
UTG+1 has [Jc] [Kc] (straight, king high).
Hero has [Ac] [As] (one pair, aces).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins 9.25 BB.

Put in a couple short sessions tonight, got sucked out on a few times early on, and ended down about $40. I'm about 60 raked hands away from clearing the bonus.

This one was pretty funny:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ah], [Th].
3 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) [3s], [Qh], [Kh] (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) [7s] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

River: (5 BB) [8c] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 5 BB

Results
BB has [9c] [2d] (high card, king).
Hero has [Ah] [Th] (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins 5 BB.

Nh with the A[h] T[h]. Could I have his screen name for my buddy list?

I notice you said you had a tiny laptop and use an AutoHotkey and X-mouse for the overlap. What is that? I have difficulty multitabling on my laptop too (can't adjust screen size b/c lousy graphics).

Thx,

Tim

Moved on up to the $3/6 tonight. The aggression factor really kicks in at that limit -- people are just stupid aggro. At 2/4 you rarely have to think about calling down with A high, but at 3/6 you have to all the time. People are much more likely to wait until the turn to bluff as well. So a little adjusting is in order.

Anyway, a short session of 130 hands had me up $105, but I cut it short when my brother called me to tell me he and his wife are having a girl. 8-)

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Kh], [Jh].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (5.33 SB) [6d], [2s], [6s] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: (3.66 BB) [Td] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls.

River: (7.66 BB) [Qs] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.66 BB

Results
UTG+1 has [7c] [8h] (one pair, sixes).
Hero has [Kh] [Jh] (one pair, sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins 9.66 BB.
----

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Js], [Ts].
4 folds, MP3 calls, 2 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (3 SB) [Tc], [Kc], [7s] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP3 checks.

Turn: (1.50 BB) [4s] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, MP3 raises, Hero 3-bets, MP3 calls.

River: (7.50 BB) [9c] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP3 folds.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB
