Wednesday March 19th.

I played 533 hands in party POker, NL$50 tables and won $22.8. I was up more than 100 at some point and then took a couple bad beats when my OESD hit with the card that also completed a runner runner flush. I played that draw very aggressive and the moron kept calling with top pair J kicker.

My aggression factor for the day is 1.98. I am OK with it. I have been considering the importance of extreme aggressiveness in th $50 NL tables. I played with an AF of about half of my regular long term win rate (3.85+) and I am feeling very well about it. The profit I had in the few ands I played on NL$25 was with this new, more passive style.

I am still rated UA with this style...

I have to say that poker has been pretty meh for the most part of May and specially June where I had my worst month ever. I am not sure if I won a littel or lose a little. I played a lot and the bad beats were just amazing. Lossing a couple huge hands in a day with flopped sets is now commom.

I stopped writing in the journal because I was feeling it was stressing me. Thinking about the game and how I had / have been unable to win at a decent rate anymore was not doing me any good.

Now, I am retaking the journal to start an experiement I did long ago. I decided to start taking notes on the losses for stupid mistakes and the ones coming from bad beats. That should bring out the reality about what is going on with my game. Why I cant beat the games I used to crush? I know I am playing a very solid style, but now for sure we'll see where the money is being lost. I will also post the biggest losing hands...and maybe the winnings ones so you guys dont change the journal name to "Here he whines again" or something.

I played 900 hands in Bodog for a total profit of $145 on the tables plus about $32 in bonus.

I dont think I made any major mistakes today. Here is the hand of the day:

I am dealt 66 in MP. Limp after two limpers. CO and button also came for the ride.

FLOP. $3.25. 2 - 7 - 6. Rainbow. Checked to me and I bet $3. CO and button fold and UTG and the player to my right call. I have full stack, UTG has ober $80 and MP1 has a bit more than 25.

TURN. $12. 5. UTG lead with $8. Shortie calls. I think about the str8s....I am not going anywhere so I pushed! They both called. The pot is $130ish.

UTG flips over 89 for the nuts and bozo shortie flips 8-4 for the second nuts.

River. $130ish. 7. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!





Another good one.

I am dealt 88 in the CO. Two limprs to me and I limp. SB completes and BB raises to $3. He has $53 and I cover, that puts me in. We are HU.

FLOP. $7. 2 - 3 - 8. Two spades. BB bets $12. Now, he should have an overpair and I have the nuts. I´M ALL IN!!! He calls and shows KK. Turn 3. River A.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!.


The sad ones:

I am dealt AA in LP. Three limpers so I raise to $3. Two callers, one bozo included (He has $40 and just loves calling raises with anything) .I am happy he's in.

FLOP. $7.5. 6 - 5 - 8. He lead into me with $5. I raised him to $15. He calls instantly. There are two clubs in the board.

Turn. $37. He leads again with $10 and I just put him in. He think for a while and calls. He flips over 8-9 . For his joy, the river was a $7 and he doubled up.

Hand 2.

I am dealt JJ in LP and raise to $2.5 after two limpers. BB calls and MP calls. They are both two very bad shortstacks.

FLOP.$8 J - 8 - 9.. with two clubs. BB donk leads with $5 MP calls. I raised to put him all in something like $23. He call with 67c and rivered the flush.


hand 3. I am dealt 66 in MP and limp after one caller. Player to my left limps too. BB checks.

FLOP. 4.25. 5 - 6 - T. Two diamonds. Checked to me and I bet $4. Player to my right min raises. EP bozo calls istantly and I just pushed all in. LP called and EP folded. He had 34 and turned his 2 for the str8. -$45 on that hand.

So today was good but I lost about 120 in bad beats and dint lose a dime in stupid moves. I played quite well because I was getting some good hands, specially on the flop. Only got KK twice and AA once.

Good day, prolly i'll play a couple hours tonight. It's saturday and there are more fish than usual!

Alchemist, about your suggestion, I must say I am playing tighter than usual. My VP$IP long term is 16.5-17.5%. Now I am more into 14.5%. I did noticed that most of the money I had been losing was in very good made hands with marginal hands that were second best. I am pretty sure that most of the times there is no way to let them go, but if I dont play them at all I might reduce th variance, which is what i amlooking ATM. Of course that a big WR is important...it's the most important thing but if I cant handle the variance it is going to be really difficult to win BIG time.

I have been playing mostly everywhere. I really dont like to stay for long periods on the same poker room. I get tired. Also, I just hate playing without a bonus.

Stay on. I might be moving up to NL$100 in this month.
