Didn't play any poker last night and instead decided to spend some quality time with Lindsay. We're making plans to go to New Hampshire on Monday/Tuesday of Memorial Day to see Storyland. We got a hotel room up there for about $50, and with the admissions to Storyland (another $50 or so), the whole trip should be pretty cheap.

After ER, I played a little Angband and again didn't get very far. My character in the game is a 14th level human wizard. No special equipment yet. I'll probably post updates about the game as I go because I have nothing better to do...

I did have a sticky situation in the game last night when I opened a door and was standing in front of a group of wood spiders (resistant to poison). I had most of my hit points, but not all of my magic points (only 9 or so), so I tried just fighting them down. I was down to 10 hp and 2 spiders and risked death, but managed to finish them off before they took me down. Luckily I wasn't poisoned in the process...

I should be playing some poker on Friday and Saturday because Lindsay will be working most of both days (until midnight on Friday and from 7am - 2pm, 3pm - midnight on Saturday).

On Sunday, I'm going to a friend's graduation and then dinner afterwards, so I think poker will probably be out that night. The BTP tournament will again be missed, but good luck to all who play.

Well, a bit of a busy night - I got to feel like a bad father twice. The first was when we were giving the kids a bath. I turned my head for one second to ask Lindsay something and Guenevere slipped and fell under the water. Lindsay cried out to get her but I just didn't react very quickly. Lindsay - who was about 10 feet away when it happened - was able to grab her out of the water before I could even move. I was within arm's reach of her.

A short while later, after Guenevere had calmed down and everything, she was playing on our couch. Lindsay was reading and within arm's reach for the most part. I was about two steps away from the edge of the couch. This time, Guenevere lauched herself off of the edge and landed squarely on her head. I know there's nothing I could've done here - but it definitely didn't make me feel too good. That and now Guenevere has a bit of a shiner on her left eye.

Anyway, that put me in a bit of a funk, but I had calmed down enough to play some poker and play the HORSE tournament. I managed to outlast Tightie, but failed to money - so I only made $4.50 net from the tournament because of the sidebet with Tightie.

During the tournament and slightly after, I played a few hands of Omaha Hi/Lo on Ultimate Bet and did quite well in a short period of time. This made me feel real good and I was having a great time. Then Lindsay asked me something and we got into a bit of a disagreement. I immediately stopped playing and we talked for a little bit. We haven't resolved everything yet - which doesn't set too well with me - but I know we communicate well enough with each other to finish it tonight.

Anyway, I played a few minutes of Angband to unwind after our disagreement, but I was still unable to get to sleep until around 3am. Lindsay got up to go to the diner (for work) at 5:30am.

Well, here's the numbers - and I am quickly approaching $1000 for the month! The $10 side bet will be added into my total when I receive it.

May 24th, 2005 (Tuesday)

Just booked a short session tonight. While Lindsay was working, Gabe really wanted to see her, so he was a bit of a 2-year-old last night, more than usual. I can't blame him though, if he misses Lindsay - she has been working more lately, and I can see that affects him. He didn't fall asleep until almost 11:30pm and I really couldn't do much about it. Hopefully tonight and tomorrow won't be too bad for him since he'll have her all day long.

Lindsay and I didn't get much time to discuss our issue last night, so that's something we still need to work on. We did talk a little and got some of our issues into the room - but they are not resolved, so as it stands, neither of us is sleeping particularly well. However, she and I will get through it once we get a chance.

I played a little of Angband last night to start off the night. My character in the game is up to 17th level now and weilds a flaming whip. Still no other notable equipment though.

What poker I did play was just killer. I played for an hour and twenty minutes and walked away with $150 or so. I wasn't catching all that well, but everyone would fold on the river when the low didn't show - even for the runner runner ones. Half of the time, I was bluffing on the river, knowing they would fold. The kicker is, the one time someone decided to step up, I had quad kings...

Here's the numbers:

UB 5/24 9:15pm $2/$4 w/h-kill O8 ring (10) $100 buyin, 10:35pm, 80 hands, +107, 67.25 UB points
UB 5/24 9:26pm $2/$4 O8 ring (10) $100 buyin, 10:34pm, 68 hands, +35.50, 45.75 UB points
UB 5/24 9:15pm - 10:35pm, 148 hands, +11.29
$536.39 ($183.96)

Well, Tightwad is a bastard with his $.04 processing fee. But I'll make it back when I trounce him in the next 20 HORSE tournaments to completely destroy his bankroll... Anyway, as I said, the money would apply to my account when I received it, so it goes on today's total.

A pretty pitiful night playing, even though I did well enough at Ultimate Bet. My night was made pitiful by Pokerstars.

To start was a $3 NL HE tournament with 1100+ players. I played 64 hands and saw the flop 4 times. Three times, I went to showdown, once I won (I had J7 in the BB and someone pushed on the flop of 77J...). I won one other hand - when I was in the BB and everyone else folded - I had 75o. Still, despite not hittin a single thing - I finished 340th - sad...

Also on Pokerstars, I had a relatively horrible run of cards at $2/$4 O8 even though the table was prime (70% flop percentage). Out of the 33 hands, I won 3 of them and all of them were $10-15. My last hand of the night - AA24ds. I flop the nut flush draw, nut backdoor flush draw, uncounterfeitable low draw and I've got my aces. Unfortunately, the turn is a ten and the river a jack to give my opponent a runner runner straight and I pay him off on the river (because the pot was quite large - 7 players in for 3 bets preflop...).

Anyway, still a winning night, so I'm not going to complain - just wish that last hand had panned out - would've made all of the difference on the night (~$100).

May 26th - May 31st (Thursday - Tuesday)

I kind of disappeared off the face of the earth because I was all over the place this weekend, but I'm back and pleased to report I had an outstanding end of May.

I started and finished the Pokerstars bonus from Friday and Saturday. I played a little on Sunday but netted a small loss. On Monday, my family (plus Lindsay's youngest sister) went up to Glen, NH and spent the day at Storyland and stayed overnight at the Red Apple Inn. Both were great (though the Inn wasn't great - it definitely wasn't bad). We did dinner at Delaney's Hole in the Wall. My baked stuffed haddock was great, but Lindsay's pizza was subpar. Their Broccoli and Cheddar soup however is the best we've had anywhere.

On Tuesday morning, we did breakfast at a little diner at the corner of Rt 16 and Rt 302 - Glen Junction (I think). It had some good food as well, and the train that ran around the perimeter of the room was enough to keep my kids' attention while waited for food and while they ate.

We did a little shopping in North Conway and I got a little time looking at my favorite river (the Saco) before we headed back home.

Well, there's my weekend recap. Here's the stats for the days I did play:

PS 5/29 4:11pm $2/$4 O8 ring (10) $80 buyin, Solstice, 5:06pm, 43 hands, -17.50
$1723.35

On Tuesday night, I also moved money out of Pokerstars ($1000) and into Ultimate Bet ($500).

Here's the totals for the month:

Net change for the days: $434.89
Net time for the days: 11.550 hours, 34.633 table-hours

Total Net change for the month: $1604.25
Total Net time for the month (actual hours): 66.267 hours
Total Net time for the month (table-hours): 145.250 table-hours

Real-Hourly rate: $24.209/hr
Table-Hourly rate: $11.045/t-hr

According to my plan, my total profit online was $1673.25. So $500 would've stayed in my account and $1173 would've been taken out. I've already taken out $1000 that didn't get returned, so now I just need to withdraw $173. I don't know if I will, but if I don't, I will hold it over for next month.

An excellent month overall and I'm looking forward to beating it soon. BTW - this is my first $1000+ month!
