Had a decent night last night despite my negative results in the end and despite not feeling like I was on top of my game (feeling a little under the weather).
I started off with the $0.25 tournament and managed to come out in the near-bubble area and during it, I played a $1 SNG that left me out of the money with some bad play.
I felt I played well in the $0.25 tournament though and actually had a decent stack for much of the first and second hour. I need to go back through the hands because at this point, I don't even remember what I screwed up on...
On the other side of things, I played another 10FPP tourney and managed to finish 82nd out of 37xx or so (still less than $1 payout though). Here I didn't feel too confident and was down to 600 chips pretty early. Then, at 75/150, I pushed in EP with a suited face card to double up. Just before the break, I managed to get myself up to ~2200 in chips - which was still abysmal since that tourney is a turbo (so blinds were going up to 500/1000 I think...)
Still making the first break in that tourney means you are in the money and soon after the break I was able to boost my stack considerably with some well timed hands that held.
Lastly, I did play a ring game for some time last night - but well beyond my ability to play with focus. I was up about $1 before I went on a downward spiral. I finished the night down about $4 on the table.
Overall - a loss of ~$5 I think - which sucks - but it happens when I don't have discipline.
Today is my anniversary with my wife (5 years). We were planning on heading down to Foxwoods for some cards, but with me being under the weather and just having some tight days of money, I think we might settle for a dinner or something else small. She already got her side of the anniversary - she wanted to go play bingo, but there was no way we'd make the Friday night session, so she went with a friend of hers on Tuesday and hit bingo twice... Too bad most of the winnings were instantly translated into covering the cost of Christmas presents...
