Missed the $15 tournament last night, but did register for the $2 one. Unfortunately, in the second level, on my first hand to play - I got knocked out.

I was in the BB with pocket nines and it folds to the SB who raises. I reraise - the SB re-reraises and I push. The SB calls with his kings and I'm out.

I probably should have just released instead of pushing, but that's the beauty of hind-sight...

Well - no worries. I'm certainly not beating myself up about it and I'd rather that happen early in a tournament than in the early part of the 2nd hour, so I at least haven't wasted my time just to put my money in against a bigger pocket pair.

Felt like I played very well last night, but just didn't have the results to show it. Out of 4 tournaments, I only managed to cash in one of them.

In the $5 tournament, I was never in a great position. With blinds at 75/150, I open-pushed with , but got called in two spots by and .

To make it truly tragic the flop came down one suited - all spades. Drawing dead from the flop, I was out.

In the $15 tournament, I didn't have much going on. I was still around 3-4k for most of the first hour, but then in the second hour, I just wasn't seeing anything going my way. With blinds at 100/200, I open raised with , only to be reraised by a guy I pegged as a weak player. He had me covered, but I made the call - and found I was against . With an ace on the flop, I was done for.

The first $2 tournament went very well though - managed to finish well into the money. The hand I got knocked out on was a race, my pocket eights pushed up against AQo. He missed the flop for the most part - except for an inside straight draw. Missed on the turn, but a jack on the river sent me packing. Finished 91st - but if that hand goes the other way, my stack would be a decent amount (above average, but not a chip leader by any means).

The second $2 tournament had an early double-up suckout by me. I had ATs and called a minimum raise from an UTG player. 5 total saw the flop come down A99. Flop action went bet of 40, call, minimum raise to 80 and then action was to me. I raised flat to 500, had 1 fold, then a raise allin from another player. I called - he had K9o. I spiked an ace on the river though - to double me up.

With blinds at 25/50 though, and still with 2.7k in chips, I raise after 2 limpers with KJo from the button. The blinds fold off and both limpers call. The flop is KQ4 with 2 diamonds. Checks to me - I bet 1k and one of the limpers minimum raises. I push - he calls with KQo and I'm out.

I hate my play on that hand. The PFR was essentially a steal raise, but with that flop I should've been done with it - and certainly after the raise.
