Sometimes poker just feels like total bullshit. Every long shot hits for you opponent, and you can't hit anything. Not only that, but all the super crooked plays come out in favor of the fish.
You have AK, he is shortstacked, has A2 and limp/calls your raise. Flop comes A23. That, A22 and K22 are the ONLY flops that you're going to double him up on. If flo brings an Ace and no deuce, he's toast. If you both miss, you win.
Also had people call me down with underpair five times today when I had TPTK or better. That's good. Except THREE out of these five times they hit their two-outer on the river.
I flopped a set once today. I had 77 and raised OTB, SB calls. Flop comes K73 rainbow and SB bets out. This is such a dry flop I decide to just call. Turn is a
putting a flush draw out, he bets again and now I raise him. River is another club and he shows
. Hey, if you have a (backdoor) out, you have a winner.
Yesterday I busted out of all 6 SnG's I played, going in as favorite in all hands except one (AK vs AQ vs 55, AQ wins of course). Today at the $100 5-max people just piss on me with their suckouts. I re-raise a miniraiser out of the SB, he calls. Flop brings a flush draw and gives me top pair, I check, he minibets and I check/raise all-in. He *instacalls* with the flush draw. Of course he hits. Then he acts like he just outplayed me, saying "thanks fish" etc. Shesh.
Most of the pots I won were without a showdown. I was actually playing pretty well and pulled off some well timed bluffs to keep me (barely) alive. Still, after the last two beats I just felt like there was no chance I would dig myself out of the hole so I just quit down $200 after two and a half hours.
It's a shame because lately I actually felt like playing poker, if this bad run hadn't hit I might have been able to actually get some decent hours in. Now I'm just irritated. Gonna take a shower and eat some chocolate.
