The Latest

Well played 2 sessions over my weekend

One on Saturday morning and one Sunday afternoon

Saturday's figures are hardly resounding but hey it's better than losing, plus i took some bad beats so im happy

Profit 0.70c in 2 hours play of full ring 1/2

Sunday played a solid 5 hour session of AP and pokerstars

PLayed 5 of the 6.50 turbo sngs on stars with mixed results

3 ITM however no wins 2x2nd 1x3rd

In the end it worked out to about a $5 profit

In my ring games on AP i played a solid session booking me a nice win of $52.00 plus another $20 in bonus. Most of these wins came on the 6-max tables where i decided i would buy-in and see how i went and if it went bad i would go back to full ring.
In any case 6-max is by far the more profitable however for just clearing bonus you cant beat full ring. I plan to keep mixing it up.

Roll is at an all time high again sitting around $1300 and something once i receive my rakeback

October 2005 Report

All is good on the poker front peoples as i have turned around a terrible start to October to what is now my highest bankroll i have acheived.

At one point this month i was down in the dumps, kicked, beaten and very pissed. Somehow i maintained composure and kept at it. Anyway played a few different sessions over the weekend which netted me some extra cash. Over the course of the weekend i would say i made about $100 at a guess but didnt really keep track.

November is a whole new month and i guess il set the target at $2000 by the end of the month.

Current Bankroll $1420

Sour Winner

Ever have one of those sessions were you won some massive pots that were capped at every street and won you a boatload of money and then you gradually gave it back to the tables. Well that was me last night. I booked a $20 win but realistically i caught the i cannot lose disease and lost some money a few times trying to outsmart people etc...in any case its still a win but it should have been huge ah well thats poker.

Lol one hand i had AKc and the flop came with 3 clubs giving me the nut flush. To my astonishment the betting was capped at every street with 4 players. WTF? i wonder what they have.....well two sets beaten and another lower flush.

Anyway should have walked away after that hand.

Stu the tourney player!

G'day Everyone!

Well fairly happy with poker played over the course of the weekend

Made around $50 over the course of 2-3 sessions in cash games

Just bonus clearing mainly but did win a few good hands. The most annoying thing happening to me lately is when playing limit and you just win a big hand against someone then next hand i get dealt AA or something big, and then proceed to give my money back to them.

In other good news on Absolute they have those ARP point tournaments and i was gonna save for the 25000 point tourney but decided against it. I got bored of ring games and thought i would enter the 1000 point ARP tourney.

Well at first i was 3-tabling and didnt pay all that much attention in the first hour just played the good hands etc. Soon i realised i could make the money as there was about 50 or so players left with top 27 being paid. The MTT started with around 130. I played it safe and made the right plays and was soon ITM.

I closed down the other tables and decided i would see just how i could go. For the majority of the time i was around the average stack size and when i made the final table i was in about 5th. I noticed alot of players were extremely tight now that every extra palce they could get would get them some extra $

I played accordingly and was soon the chip leader with another guy. He then proceeded to eliminate alot of players and i got to HU with him his stack of 130k v my 50k
The big hand came when i had 9,10 vs his AA and i had an OESD with the flop 7,8,9 giving a pair of 9's as well. HE called all in and i knew what he had but i called. Turn a blank River a 9 giving me 3 of a kind. Woot took it down from there. A win of $110.00 which is pretty good for nothing. I gained alot of confidence from it and i played really well. From now on any time i get the chance to play this thing im going to its quick free money. My best result thus far in a MTT and maybe ill play a few more MTTs to mix it up from now on. Anyway enough ranting planning a few hours tonight to keep the ball rolling.

Bankroll $1595

having a dip at 2/4

Last night i decided i was going to try and stick to playing solely 2/4 LHE and stay there. I have been at 1/2 solidly for the last 2 months and winning. I wanted to really get this thing going and decided it was time. Anyways started out going up and down like a yoyo till one big hand where my KK got cracked on the river even after i reraised a couple of times against a guys AJ...admittedly he did hit a J on the turn but geez it hurts when that aces falls.

Soon i was down around $80 and i was quite angry and just annoyed...some moron was trash talking me at the table and i took a 1/2 hr break just to get away...i came back and within an hour or 2 i had my money back plus another $20 or so.

What i did notice at AP is that the bonus clears just as slow i think whether u are playing 1/2 or 2/4 and i am probably better off 2-tabling the 1/2 tables when they are available.
In any case i was lucky to come away with a modest win after at one point being down so much. I read someone say once that 6-max should be treated as one level higher in terms of limits so i think 2 tabling the 1/2 tables for now will be good. At some point i am going to have to move up though and i might just wait till the roll reaches 2k before i do.

Congratulations on your comeback.

I play 2/4 LHE also. At that level an $80 downswing is nothing. Just yesterday I had a $70 downswing before I made it back. And I have lost as much as $353 in one day. I am working on making that back (and more hopefully) this month.

3 Hour Session

Hey All.

Thanks for the comments woody yeah ive noticed the swings in the 2/4 game are quite large especially at 6-max but so far so good so no complaints just yet.

Tonight started off playing one 2/4 table and it was unbelivable. I did not lose a showdown for 30 minutes and was flopping the nuts like crazy i sat down at the table with $40 then 30 minutes later i have $145.00 thats like insane but i guess thats 6-max

Anyway i gave some of that $ back stupidly then a bit more and before i knew it i had almost given it all back. took a break came back composed and one hand i was involved in was huge and i got to the turn with 2 others with a straight and flush draw...the pot was reraised before it got to me and i seriously had to think about calling off $8 but i did and luckily for me i hit my flush. For some stupid reason i didnt bet on the river and it got checked down but ah well was a huge pot.

Also spent $22 on one of the new Pokerstars 180 people tourneys. Went out about 100th just had cold cards the whole sng. Ended up going all-in with KQs against AKo and lost.

Ah well still a terrific night

Pokerstars 180 man SNG -$22
Cash Games on AP +$130
Bonus Cleared +$20

Not much to report

Not alot to report lately as have played only once in the last 3-4 days which is kinda annoying but ive had work functions and family birthdays etc etc

Anyways did get one 15 minute session in quickly one morning and made $40 super quick with 2 monster hands one after the other which was pretty cool and things are progressing quite well at the moment.

The Comeback Kid

Well luckily i was able to make a comeback tonight. It wasnt pretty and it involved some risky plays but i got there in the end. I played a mixture of 2/4 and 3/6 LHE and the bad beats kept coming however somehow i pushed past them. I lost with AA 5 times out of 5 tonight which really sucked. It got to the stage where i was seeing i had AA and actually being depressed about it coz i knew somehow i would get sucked out.

A couple of monster pots on a 6-max 3/6 table where how i managed the comeback. I hit a flush with KJdand had someone bet into me with his 89d. Also another hand where i flopped a set and thr turn paired my FH, the other guy made his straight however seemed content to cap on the river.

All in all i turned a losing night into break even so quite content i guess.

We Qualified!!!!

Now for most here there country qualifying for the world cup would probably be a given however Australia seem to stuff something up every 4 years so that we dont make it. Also adding to the problem has been the coach who is now some dutch mastermind who led the Sth Koreans to the semi's in the last WC.

Anyways watched this last night and what a game....we were down 0-1 from the first leg and we won 1-0 and went to penalties! the whole of Australia watched this thing in pubs etc and i watched in my mates restauarant. Crazy stuff as people were all hugging each other etc.

Anyway before i left i played for an hr and a 1/2 for a profit of $6.25 (earth moving stuff i know) When i got home however from my night out watching the soccer decided i might have another quick session which was 15m played for a profit of $65 on the 2/4 LHE tables. So all in all a pretty good night!

Kicked, bruised and pissed on!

Well the title sums its up i went down yesterday for the total of around $230 odd dollars. I had nothing to do and decided i could finally play some poker and now ive lost confidence etc in my game and im fkn pissed!

Such is the game of 6-max and i knew this day would come but geez im angry i mean how dare u call my KK down to the river with your A2o and hit your ace. Anyway just started up again playing for a bit today i may have to head back to the 1/2 tables if nothing is going right.

Well its not all bad

Well started down again at 1/2 last night and made a solid $50 or so but it didnt happen by itself. I slugged away for a good 3 hours then finally left the table up $50 which helps my confidence because that massive loss really affected me.

I also deposited some cash on Pokerstars to get the reload bonus and played a $10 SNG which i never got close to winning. Was not in a good frame of mind and well not biggie!

Bankroll is a shell of its former self but i did just take some good out of the fact that im still up for this month by a couple of hundred dollars so things are quite good really.
Im playing a game i love and collecting a sum of money in the process.

AP 1/2 ring games $50
SNGS @ Stars -$11
