Well went down last night to the tune of around $140, this was a mix of 1/2 then 2/4 on tilt. It was just gay some of the suckouts that i copped like one where i raised every chance i could with KK flop was like 9JX turn was a Q river was a 10. Im like ah well i still have the straight. The guy has AK...what a crock that was.

Also QQ lost to K10 offsuit when 4 to the flush came up by the river and his K of spades beat my Queen. just shite like that it really pisses u off.

In any case im taking $1000 out like i said i would a few weeks back. And now i should have around $400 to play with. Once again i will work up and try and get that to $1000 like i did the first time. Also i have found that you play alot more solid with a smaller roll.

i know that 1/2 isnt really suitable when u only have around $400 bucks to play with and if it gets as low as maybe $250 im gonna have to go down, however im thinking positive here and i plan to win fkn heaps!!!

Now last night i was down straight up around $50 bucks when i was had my aces cracked 3 times in a row i mean come on!

Won a massive pot later when i hit a set of kings and also beat a guy who flopped 2 pair that he couldnt drop with an ace high flush.

Im happy with that start and if i can lose badly like this early on and still have a winning night well ill be stoked!

Also just to get through my day at work today ive chucked some cash on the NBA

Report for December

Well a pretty pathetic month really which ended up in me losing a small amount i think around $25 at the end of the whole thing. I withdrew some of my roll mainly just so i could get back to some basics of poker playing and well start running good again.

Over the last few days however there has been a revelation.

Firstly i made around $80 at 1/2 FHE and then dropped it all back. Ive realised i am getting sick to death of raising PF with my Aces and getting called by like 4 players and getting sucked out on. Well ive read here and other forums that im not the first person to get annoyed by this and well ive got two words

No Limit!!!

Why have i not been playing this all along? i jumped on some tables last night and sure enough the results came. I was simply playing awesome making reads, taking down pots with my big hands and i managed to stack 3 guys. I started off at $1 Limit which is probably way to high for my roll and i will make the move down from now on but boy was it fun. I was only buying in for $40 on each table but i dont think i lost a showdown in a big pot nearly every time i went all the way in a big pot i had a dominant hand or the absolute nuts in one case. The only downside to this was the bigger stacks were doing alot of pushing around where say i had AK and we raised PF flop came say 872 and they will just go all-in.... u just get forced 2 fold.

Anyways NL career thus far +$110 and i think im gonna make this move permanently it suits my style perfectly and i think ive now done my limit apprenticeship.

Dude - I would be extremely careful about playing above your roll. You are begging to be broken. most of us have done the same early in our careers (I dont mean to imply that youre a rookie), but with a roll fo $400, you'd be nuts to player higher than $25NL. the rule I used when climbing the ladder was 40 buy ins. So I went from $25NL to $50NL when I had $2K, etc. just some friendly advice.

Thanks for the advice man, yeah i know i was playing above my roll it started off as a quick $40 experiment just to see whether i could play NL or not. I understand bankroll management etc it was more just a fling if i lose the $40 no big deal i didnt rock up to the table with a full stack.

Anyways yeah in hindsight it was dumb but ah well i now know what game i want to play and its gonna be NL i will be moving to $25NL from now on though.

Ive noticed sometimes that say deciding to have a crack at a higher game with a portion of your roll can be quite rewarding.

NL is pretty sweet!

Well spent as much time as i could this weekend playing NL .$50.....the results were good winning approx maybe $50 or so and about $10 in bonus....basically all ive been doing is playing by my limit logic really. I think the time i spent playing limit has really helped and well so far NL seems far more enjoyable.

There were a few hands were say i hit my cards and people will still put u all in, it was great

There seems to be alot of obvious bluffing in .5 NL and especially the larger stacks will bet massive amounts when holding say AK when 3 undercards hit the flop. Ive stacked 2 guys doing this thus far and well its great. U will get the odd suckout but so far the big hands have held up where they are supposed to. Bankroll is moving up again and im prolly back over $600 now! woot

Another Session

Well got in another 3 hr session where it was pretty up and down really...i started off really well when i stacked a guy where i think i had pretty much close to the nuts and he just decided he was going all in. I insta-called his bet coz i had seen him play a few hands badly already and doubled up.

Then i hit a real cold deck for an hour i would say it was just boring the crap out of me and i started trying to catch a break with a marginal hand here and there which i usually dont do as much when im playing my best. Anyways slowly gave back that initial money and then i was down some before a streak of a few good hands and nice calls which saw me make around $30 for the evening including bonus so not to bad i guess as long as that bankroll keeps building im happy! Well just checked out why i still had not received my first withdrawal from neteller and well i dunno they cancelled the transaction for some reason, anyways ive been doing some thnking and maybe i will just keep the roll its not like i need the money in RL anywayz so looks like im back up again. A Summary!

Well i try to read as many journals on here as i can and well im not 2 sure how many people read this but i figured it was about time i at least made it a bit more personal considering all i ever do in this thing is write results and i was having a quick read myself and well frankly i was boring me to tears.

Ok so im 23 i work full time in Finance and i have a passion for poker. Now i should point out that unfortunately i dont have any lesbian stories so this journal aint quite gonna be as exciting as some of the other ones round this joint. Anyways bout to start studying as well doing a bachelor of business which is gonna kill my poker playing time but ah well. I try to go out when i can, also been going out with my gf now for 2 &1/2 yrs. Im obsessed with all sports pretty much and do occassionly have a crack at betting on NBA, tennis, soccer etc with a little bit of success. My goal really is to make money i want to be at the stage in my life where i can wake up and go "u know what fk it i dont feel like working today" That is my dream! Anyways ill try post a bit more about funny stories and just general crap really in here to liven it up a bit

On the poker front.

Played last night NLHE to start with and was down $60 before i knew it. Spent the next 2 and a bit hours getting my money back playing both NL and limit on two different sites until i finally managed to be up around $13 for the evening so that would do me. I think from now on i might mix it up with NL and limit and see if i can master both games as i do enjoy both.

Ok just thought id take the time out to complain and bitch about party poker, this might seem like just me ranting on about PP and how they suck etc

Ok so the story goes like this, i decide ok im gonna try out PP to see how fishy the players are etc and the $100 bonus for 700 raked hands seems quite easy which it is.

The problem at Party is the players and the cards, i got sucked out on time and time again and it just really got to me. I mean u can only keep putting your money on the line with the best of it so many times before u just have to ask is this not my site.

First example i am on a very loose table and im in the BB with KK few raises and reraises and some guy raises a couple of dollars all fold to me and i make it $5 more to play he goes all-in with A10 offsuit flop comes K23 and im aleady counting my chips turn is a 4 river is a 5...you gotta be shitting me!!!

On my other table i hold JJ and raise it up with one caller flop comes 10 high and he goes all in! im thinking ok this guy has A10 or something which he did and then rivered another 10 when i called him.

Is this normal on party poker are they trying to get money off me? wtf i have a whole lot more i could share but those 2 really stick out in my mind.

Anyway im done with the bonus now after a long weekend of poker playing

Goodbye Party, hello Empire

Well downloaded empires software last night and began my whoring exploits at their rock gardens. I am now working off another $100 bonus for 500 raked hands which is now 1/5 of the way done. In those first 100 hands i wont bitch and moan but i should have won some money however after it was all said and done i was up around $5 so i mean its not terrible and ill be happy with that i suppose as long as i dont get one of those party losing streaks happening again. Pretty lame players here also but hey a whores gotta do what a whore has gotta do.

Not sure where to after this one is done, if i cant find a decent bonus somewhere ill head back to absolute im weighing up either that or Bodog or Multipoker.

Ok 500 hands easy done!! boy that was boring. i did about 400 of the hands at the .5/1 LHE tables and ended up finding myself up a couple of bucks after a few hours of work.

so yeah things are good!! Bankroll is at an alltime high which is something i didnt think i would be saying again! well at least for awhile, i am now closing in on $2k which would just be awesome! and im really starting to get the knack for this NL game. Example tonight is large stack sitting directly next to me has been calling my raises for the last 1/2 hr. We have fought for pots back and forth, anyway i try a bluff on another guy in a pot and get reraised so i fold and the guy pays out on me in the chatbox, very next hand bang pocket rockets (AA) i raise it up and he re-raises as i just knew he would. I decide maybe if i push he will call simply to try and bust me and sure enough he flips his AJ over after calling and i double up.

I really enjoyed that hand and he got paid out on by the table after that then left

Anyway gonna keep it going 2k here i come!
