Bizarre: even removing tilt losses is unlikely to explain the whole difference.

I think this shows you need a lot more hands to get a true winrate, especially if you play many tables simultaneously, as a bout of tilt will affect more hands than if you're playing few tables. I'm glad I only 2-table.

It also begs the question: why don't you move back to Tribeca? There must be some bonuses there you haven't exhausted yet.

I've contemplated going back, and I probably will if when I try to move up to NL100 again I fail, but I really like Ongame because you can play more than 4 tables and therefore the bonuses clear faster too. Even though i'm break-even at Ongame through poker, i'm actually up something like $1000 through bonuses.

I think you're right about 'true winrate" though, and I think it might take 100k hands before it starts to show. So far so good at Ongame's NL50 though :)

As well as the more obvious difference between the "best fit" shapes of the two graphs, what's also weird and interesting is the difference in patterns of the session variations swings within each, with Tribeca quite linear ie low variance, and how this is quite consistent throughout the 20K hands in both graphs.

If Ongame 50NL turns out to be high variance for you like the 100NL, you should check out the recent thread on the 50% of winnings bonus at codepoker (unless you've become hooked on variance). Prima games are pretty soft, and you can play 4 tables at once there. I'm going to have a look once I've hit my Bodog target (yawn).

I know, I was surprised by the differences in variance between the two sites too, as I was sure I felt more variance at Tribeca but i think since a LOT of beats were to short-stacks, it doesn't show much and therefore the actual monetary variance is lower, even if the amount of beats is higher, if that makes sense.

So far the variance seems lower at NL50, but I really don't have enough hands to say anything accurately, although I HAVE noticed a difference in the players, they seem a lot more donkish here and willing to go all-in preflop with AK or AT even, as well as calling pot size bets with flush draws which you just don't see much of at NL100. (not as much of, at least)

Here's a graph of my time at NL50, for what it's worth:

I saw that thread on 50% winnings and it looks very interesting, I will certainly check it out if i lose my soul to the variance devil again.

How's Bodog treating you btw? I've heard the players are terrible but the variance is still low, however i've thus far been hesitant to deposit because i've heard a lot of bad things about the software and when I play on bad software, my play goes down the drain. That's why I can't win at Prima (i believe), i find their software to be a joke and I just can't take it seriously.

Life's good at Bodog, but the software is still glitch-ridden. The players are perfect, though, betting 1/5 pot with top pair. :D

You can only tri-table there too, so I don't think it's the place for you.

If this 50% winnings Prima site works out I may not return to Bodog. I'm used to the Prima software because my home site, Ladbrokes, uses it. As far as I'm concerned, apart from the annoying thing where the slider control is far too small to use accurately and you have to type in your raise and hit return before the raise button shows the correct amount, it's simple and reliable. No bells and whistles for me, thanks!

Bodog sounds good - I might try them out sometime in the future as a secondary site playing 3 tables there and 4 at another site, Ongame probably.

You're lucky to have Prima as your home site, i got accompanied with party, the land of almost no bonuses

This should REALLY highlight the importance of chasing bonuses while playing poker. Without bonuses i'm losing $369 for the week, WITH bonuses, it's a decent winning week. Monthly results to follow.

That = Me happy :D

If that kind of monthly winnings is sustainable, that works out to about $33,000 US a year, not too shabby if I may say so myself 8-)

My bankroll at the start of this was about $800 IIRC, it's now sitting at around $2600 AND i've withdrawn $1000 (i really, really hated doing that, but i needed the money :?)

PS - Thanks to everyone who reads this journal and has posted advice/messages of support, i appreciate it and i have no doubt that it's helped motivate me to play better poker the whole time - especially when i was being knocked around at NL100 this past week, that was just gruesome.
