Details on Project Cashout:

I'm playing my usual games--3/6 and 5/10 on Stars and $50 PLO8 on Full Tilt. Weekly, I'm cashing out everything I have above and beyond my starting roll of:

$2000 for the LHE games
$400 for the PLO8 games

I'm not advocating using those bankroll numbers for everybody. For me, though, they work because my bankroll is readily replaceable, and I have a stop-loss limit of two buy-ins ($100 at the PLO8), and a single full buy-in at the 5/10 game ($200). If either of those occur, I'm done for the day.

So far, it's worked out quite well:

Since 5/1/06,
Limit Games: +$297.65 (over 1382 or so hands)
PLO8 Games: +$290.20 (over 490 hands)

Total Winnings: $587.85

I'll be updating my quest as regularly as I can...

Three hideous beats at 5/10 today:

Two outered twice by the same friggin idiot...it's a wonder I can win at this game with stupid jerks like these populating the earth, but you have to figure that if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't make the money I do make...

The first guy got me twice more and I lost a buy-in:

On these hands, I was no worse than an 82% favorite to win, and lost all 5 hands for a total loss of $256...brutal.

So what happens tonight? First hand I play:

Reads:
MP1: 47/8/0.80 over 13 hands
BB: 15/7/0.38 over 82 hands

When did these weak calling station assholes end up at Stars??

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Tc], [Ts].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 raises, Hero calls, 4 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (8.33 SB) [9d], [Th], [Jc] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (7.16 BB) [6d] (3 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, MP1 calls.

River: (10.16 BB) [8s] (3 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 10.16 BB

Results in white below:
BB has Qs 7s (straight, queen high).
MP1 has Qh Qc (straight, queen high).
Hero has Tc Ts (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: BB wins 5.08 BB. MP1 wins 5.08 BB.

Only good part is that BB and MP1 were too stupid to value bet their straights on the river...Unbelievable just how stupid some players are...

Finally figured out where to look!

Postby enigma? » Thu May 11, 2006 7:20 am

Hey Tib,

I was searching under every stone and finally found where u were telling me about those beats. Now I can officially say wow! Trust me when I tell you I can relate to how much you wanted to boil over when that guy turned over his cards (Hello can somebody tell that guy that his queens are probably no good with that king on board and somebody is raising him!). But as we all know patience is a virtue! By the way, I love the idea of your challenge so much that I have put myself under the same kind of rigourous test....except i had to slightly scale back the amount i was starting out with considering I cannot easily replace such an amount all in one shot.
