Here's a rundown of the last three days.
Mon won $30
Tues lost $10 but cleared the $100 Empire bonus,

Today I didn't really get a lot of poker in. I played less than an hour and just 163 hands. During my last orbit I was only up about $6 when this hand happened.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

saw flop|saw showdown

MP3 ($49.55)
CO ($51)
Button ($63.12)
SB ($62.55)
BB ($75.91)
UTG ($50.25)
UTG+1 ($34.15)
UTG+2 ($8.25)
Hero ($50.20)
MP2 ($47.25)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Kc], [Kh]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, MP3 calls $2, CO reraises to $3.5, 3 folds, Hero reraises to $8, MP3 folds, CO reraises $47.50 (All-In), Hero calls $42.20 (All-In).

Flop: ($103.95) [4c], [Jh], [4d] (2 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: ($103.95) [Jd] (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($103.95) [Ah] (2 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $103.95

Results in white below:
Hero has Kc Kh (two pair, kings and jacks).
CO has Tc Td (two pair, jacks and tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $102.40. CO wins $0.79.

Needless to say this guy was a moron. He raised over 20% and saw more than 70% of his flops. The call was easy, but that damn ace on the river scared the shit out of me. Anyway, it was a nice short session.

I plan on playing quite a bit of poker tomorrow, but from friday til Sunday my brother and I are heading to Yakima, Washington to visit a friend. It will be a great time for drinking and catching up.

edit I also played in a 20+2 sng at Stars and finished third. I could write an essay on how bad the final two players were, but I won't. Let's just say moron 1 couldn't understand that he sucked out on me by rivering trip aces even though I flopped two pair in the big blind with Q2. The rest of the game he tried figuring out how he was beat even though he limped on the button with big slick. He said, "I think anyone would take big slick over Q2." I finally told him that I wasn't going to teach him the god damn game.

Moron 2 called an all in preflop with K2 and hit two pair. It was frustrating that these guy weren't in my ring games.

Just shy of playing an hour for my morning session and I am up $63. I would play longer but I am babysitting my little brothers son and he just woke up form his nap.

My biggest loser of the day was only $7.50 and my biggest winner was on a cool suckout for a cool $53.65. In my defense I thought this guy had Ace with a big kicker and he was overplaying the shit out of it. His vp$ip was only 14%, but I guess I should have been paying more attention to his aggression numbers...it was only 1.17. Here is the hand, you decide if I played it right.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

BB ($47)
UTG ($12)
UTG+1 ($70.85)
UTG+2 ($47.43)
MP1 ($48.25)
MP2 ($48.50)
MP3 ($54.87)
Hero ($52.40)
Button ($56)
SB ($51.30)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [2h], [2s]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.50, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.50, Button raises to $3, 1 fold, BB calls $2.50, UTG+1 calls $2.50, MP1 folds, Hero calls $2.50.

Flop: ($12.75) [Ac], [3s], [2c] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 bets $10, Hero raises to $25, Button folds, BB folds, UTG+1 raises to $50, Hero calls $24.40 (All-In).

Turn: ($112.15) [Ad] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($112.15) [Ts] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $112.15

Results in white below:
UTG+1 has 4h 5h (straight, five high).
Hero has 2h 2s (full house, twos full of aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $111.55. UTG+1 wins $0.60.

Its been a good morning.

I should also add that it is hard to put this guy on 45s utg when he's only playing 14% of his hands. The only thing I would have been worried about was a higher set.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm always glad to hear some people find my journal somewhat interesting....

Today I played less than 60 hands and made about 12 bucks. The first two hands I played were QQ then KK. On the kings I called an isolated preflop raise and played the flop like a set. That was my biggest winner of the day and it was only about $15 bucks. I would play more today, but I'm in recovery from a rough weekend.

My brother and I left at 5:30pm Friday to visit our friend Michael in Yakima, Wa. We arrived at 9:00pm and five minutes later was the last time I remember being the slightest bit sober. The first night we went to some complete redneck bar where we felt like kittens in a rottweiler's cage. Everyone had a cowboy hat and boots, we did not. We were wearing our more civilized attire.

After the bar we got in the car with some rehabed coke head who's dad just bought him a pimped out Subaru WRX. He drove like a complete moron and almost killed us a couple times. First time we were driving through some residential neighborhood and he drove 100mph and blew threw stop signs. Neither my brother or I thought it was funny. A little bit later he tried passing a car in a gravel construction zone and spun the car out after going ditch to ditch. The car died facing right at the car we passed. He turned the ignitition, started the car and we left the ditch and headed the other way. After that we vowed never to drive with this guy again.

Later that night we ended up at the WRX owners appartment. He had a computer there and started talking about online poker. He went on to tell us how he hates online poker because a mixture of stupid plays and rigged servers took him for more than 5 grand. At one point he had deposit limits set because he was wasting so much money. Eventually he gave it up because the only people winning we employees and creaters of the poker software. We figured it was just terrible bankroll management, but it turned out he never played anything higher than $50nl. Do the math....he lost 100 buy ins at $50 NL!!!!!! How bad can you be...

Finally, by the end of Friday night we headed back to Mike's house. We sat around until 4am talking about Michaels miserable life. His girlfriend left him about a month back and he blames it all on himself. I'm not the nicest guy when my friends are bitching about their ex's. I flat out told him that she was a bitch liar and a whore. She also got breast implants at 17. None of his friends like her because she's the type of girl that tries her best to convince everyone she's smart meanwhile her grammar is terrible and she lies about everything. At one point she had us convinced that she made 2k a week selling furniture, and when I say convinced I mean that I was giving her the benifit of the doubt. Later on after I had known her for a while it turned out that he paychecks every two weeks were right around $500. My math says that she was probably making more like six an hour. Dumb bitch.......

Next day we woke up early and acted like the talk the night before never happened. Everyone was feeling like shit so we started drinking before noon. At about 1pm we headed out to the redneck jeep bowl. The jeep bowl is full of a ton of lifted trucks that drive through mud. I was not impressed and I almost lost my mind after hearing, "git'r done" for the millionth time. Oh, and who can forget, "that's dukes of hazard shit." Fucking imbread morons and tough guy wannabees. Thank you mom and dad for not subjecting me to that life.

Well, the rest of the day was non eventful. We drank and drank some more. By the end all three of us had about a case to ourselves and none of us were drunk. We all drank ourselves sober at one point or another so we called it a night. We were all asleep by midnight. It was nice seeing Mike, but my god, Yakima sucks and him acting like a sniveling bitch about a whore pisses me off to no end. Ughh.....I'll feel better tomorrow.

Take no offense here Stealth, but I don't think you like poker enough!! I work 40 hours a week, and play AT LEAST 25 hours a week, and the rest of the time I read about poker!!

10 hours a week?? Jesus, I do that on Saturday alone! ( I dont multi table as much as most)...

Find something you really like to do...poker is always a good hobby....

Well, I work 50 hours a week...and have and a pregnant wife that's due in about 3 weeks...and I still play anywhere from 20 to 30 hours a week. 10 hours a week shouldn't be too difficult. An hour and a half and you don't have another job.

I can understand feeling comfortable with the amount of buy-ins you have, but I would make the jump. If you lose a couple buy-ins at $100, then you can drop back down until your comfortable again. You have the Bankroll, go for it.
