Big tournament for me

Postby Nashvegas » Wed Nov 17, 2004 11:57 pm

I'm joining in the Royal Vegas $20+2 MTT right now, feel free to drop by if you'd like. VandyFootbal is my name there.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. This should keep me accountable for my play.

At the end of the first hour, the rebuy period is over. I've have few powerful hands, but I've gotten lucky when I've been forced to make a move with bad pocket cards.

Out of the original 126, only 67 remain. I have not rebought, and failed to add on because the hour expired while I was involved in a big hand. I've got a stack of 3500 or so, and the average is 5500.

Busted out on the 2nd hand of the second hour. Had black queens, raised to 3xBB to open. Got called once. Pot 1500 or so, my stack at about 2800. Oponent has me way covered. Flop is T83 with two spades

Here I don't want to take chances, I want to win a sizable pot. Besides, I'm up against a weak player, maybe he'll make a dumb call.

Sure enough, he calls me 2xPOT sized allin with KQ, with the king of spades. And sure enough, turn and river come runner-runner spades. No more tournament for Nash. Had I won the hand, I would have had over 7000 chips (well above average), in a spot where 15 out of remaining 60 make the money.
