I have watched this thread and find it funny how some posters seem to be argueing just to argue. These same players are saying auto push in other threads with hands that to me are as marginal as 67s. Ten time Braclet winning Doyle Bruson loves 67s because that is the type of starting hand that cracks Aces.
Have you guys never been big stacked at the final table? When someone goes all in and the big stack smooth calls everyone gets out of the way 90% of the time. They want small stack gone. As luck would have it another small stack also had a hand. If it had been a middle to large stack and he pushes then you muck your 67s. Calling a all in for 10% of your stack with suited connectors is a good call. You can still get away from the hand if someone comes over the top. Like Henderson said small stack could have anything from Ax to pocket 2's or worst. With suited connectors you have a striaght draw and flush draw and a chance for 2 pair. What do you gain? One player gone. What do you lose? T4000. Put the hand in prospective. The call wasn't for 50% of his stack it was 10%. To make things simple you have 4000 in chips the player to your right has 400. He pushes all in you call the 400. You win your have 4400 plus the blinds you lose you have 3600. Are the 400 chips going to make your trny or break it? No but another player gone brings you that much closer to your goal.
On to the next point. If you never had a rush and rode it to the end you havn't played much poker. I disagree with Snow that a rush gives you a reason to make this call. The reason for the call is the risk reward. But rushes are real. Playing your "a" game versus your "c" game is also real.
Some of you need to go back and read Henderson's post. Read them with a open mind and absurb what he is telling you.
