Or at least that's what the guy with Aces called me.
Here's the situation. Final table of a fast paced tournament. I had just come out of nowhere in the past 20 minutes to gain the chip lead. I was down to 1100 with 150/300 blinds with 14 left. Top 10 got paid. I had pocket Aces 3x in less than 3 orbits and doubled up each time. Then pocket Jacks turned into a set. So now I'm sitting at the final table with just under 40,000 with the blinds 300/600 (or maybe 250/500 - don't exactly remember). There are 9 players left. Player in EP pushes for about 4,400. I am behind with
[6c]. Next closest stack to me has about 27,000. What do you do?
I figured I had almost 10x his stack and I could lose the hands and still be the chip leader by about 7-8,000. For the chance to knock another player out I called. Player with an even shorter stack went all-in behind me. Original raiser had AA, late shortie had KK. Flop came 865, turn 6 and I knocked them both out with trip 6's. Afterward, AA called me "a f*ckin idiot!". Was I?
PS - I thought I played incredible heads-up poker, waited, and trapped my opponent with trip 9's to win the whole thing. I wish I had a hand history. Unfortunately is was just a Freeroll on VIP Poker that I got the password to and I only cashed $150. But anytime you win an MTT, it makes you feel pretty good.
