I don't play tournaments much online, but am a solid cash game player. I certainly know some tournament strategy, but its defiantly not my forte. I've read a few books, and feel like I understand the fundamentals. I did hear the $20 180 man SNGs were easy, and it only took me 15 tries to win one (but I got bored of them, figured cash games were more profitable), other than that don't have any real tournament scores (I play the $215 every now and then, get outdrawn somewhere within the first two hours and that puts me off tournaments for a while). Also at the moment I only have around a 30k bankroll.

So the question is, should I play this $1500 event?
Pros: I hear it's really easy (so I should have a positive ROI, despite being somewhat inexperienced in tournament play), already have a room a suite at the rio that week, celebrating graduating college (rush), and will have tons of good pot.
Cons: Forced to play, can't party. Don't really feel like losing $1500, and can't play cash games where I most certainly would be profitable.

Any advice other than try to satellite in?

To me it doesn’t sound like you’re very committed to playing it. The only reason to play it would be to win it and to do well in an MTT you have to have the correct mind set and be prepared to play long hours. You have to get plenty of rest and have a clear head.

So I think your $1500 could be used on other entertainment that Vegas has to offer rather then donating it to a WSOP event. Down the road when you would rather play this MTT then party come back and give it a shoot.
