I have got this nice starting hand but the flop doesn't hit me. Nevertheless I try to win with a continuation bet. Unfortunately villain calls. The turn completes a flush as well as a straight draw. Second hand villian was probably chasing flush or low or both, first hand you pushed the flop with negative results, on the turn you are, ( in my opinion facing a straight or draw or 2 pair or set) but being in this position many times, without further info on villian you are getting your ass pounded. Aces against that board is death against someone who lets you bet. But there are many idiots who keep calling with nothing but if you keep counting on that to be the case you will go broke.

This is one of my enebriated answers with not much thought but with that in mind alot depends on the number of hands you have against villian, how often you raise pre flop and what you raise pre flop with.

If I'm villian and you usually only raise with aces or 4 low I will call pre flop with a much larger range and wait for you to push , and keep pushing when I have you. And like me, who can't trust anyone for to long, I bet the river to make sure I get all I can from you just in case you check my check.

Now the rest of the responses you get might be detailed and talk about what possible holdings villian has it will all be for ****. The fact is you have crap on the river, the question is who is dumber, you or villian.

No I don't fire that turn again unless I had the . Most likely villian is drawing for the flush and if he is drawing for the str8 my guess is that it will take 2 more bullets to drive him off (turn and river). I don't want to bluff into the nuts and I don't want to fire 2 more bullets so I check and see what he does on the river.
