Yeah, well, whatever.

Late in a session, I have the 'auto post blind' box unchecked and am planning on leaving when the blinds come around, which is in like 2 hands. I wish I could check this easily on PTO but I bet I have lost more $$ in my final orbit of each table than at any other time. Anyways....

I have A3JTds in MP and raise it up to $2. Standard raise, with 3 callers. I have a full stack, only one caller has more, the other 2 have maybe 20 bucks. The guy with the bigger stack appears semi maniacal, and at the very least is sloppy preflop.l

Flop comes KJ2 with one club. Checked to me, I CB half the pot. 2 callers. I now have the effective button.

Turn comes the 5 of clubs, giving me the nut low and nut flush draws, plus a gutty. There's like $10 in the pot. Semi maniac guy pushes, it's $48 for me to call off my stack.

Do you call? If so, how long do you wait before clicking the call button? Likewise if you fold.

I generally will fold in these types of spots in order to reduce variance. My logic is that if I want to risk putting my chips in on an overbet with a draw, I want at least 15 or so outs that get me a guareenteed scoop plus some other "half outs". Any low card that doesnt make me a high hand, I count as a half out because it will only give me half the pot at most. I chose 15 as the number because I want 13 to call the pot sized bet plus a couple of extra to give me the 5% edge.

Assuming that this guy has a set, I wouldnt count the board pairing club as a clean out. I count 3 queens and 7 clubs for the flush. If he has a low draw as well, the low clubs might only get you 3/4s. Also if the 3c comes, he it might make him a low.

Some math wizards could probably tell you that exact odds of winning here to justify a call, but I always come back to something that ATE told me. "WHY flip coins in this game when SOMEONE will BE willing to put ALL their CHIPS in when you are a 70-30 / 80-20 / 90-10 favorite OR give you a FREEROLL?"

I say fold to reduce variance. At best you are a coin flip in this spot, wait for a better one.

Also, I know that is shouldnt matter, but it does matter to me the mental benefit of booking a win. Let say you are up $25 for the day and have had a three day slide, fold, quit for the day and book a win. I keep track off all my session in Excel and hate to see a bunch of red numbers of the summary tab in a row.
