Drawing Dead with the nuts

Postby Rhound50 » Thu Mar 10, 2005 4:16 am

I juts got Hellmuth's new book and he wrote up this hand, thought it might be interesting to some others here.

SB [5c] [7c] [8s] [9s]
BB [3d] [5s] [7s] [8d]
UTG [Ac] [Ad] [4c] [4d]
MP [Kd] [Ks] [10d] [10s]
CO [As] [Qs] [Jh] [9h]
Button [Kh] [10h] [6d] [6c]

Flop [10c] [6s] [4s]

turn [Kc]

MP player is now all in everyone calls, MP has the nuts and is drawing stone cold dead, kind of crazy.

lol! Very unlikely to actually happen but kinda interesting...

I recall a situation from an actual real hand that Stewart Reuben played in one of his books, where his opponent moved all in on the TURN with the nut straight and top set.. and was an underdog to win (I believe Rebuen had two flush draws and some sort of straight wrap that had 21 outs to his opponent's 19).
