$25 PLO at bodog

I Attempted a bluff that failed miserably then sucked out to win a big pot .

My reason behind the turn bluff. MP1 (PFRaiser) smooth called my re-raise so i put him on top set AA lookin for the boat. LP jjust called so I put him on a smalller set or a non-nut flush. I bet the turn representing the nuts. Was this a bad spot for a bluff? Or did this have a decent chance for success? And like a chump I sucked out on the river and won a nice pot. Gotta love PLO.

sorry to say but bad. First, you didn't raise enough on the flop to really learn anything and since you will be called by a decent amount of hands for a min raise, you are gonna be playing this pot out of position against possibly 2 people. Many people at Plo25 are not gonna drop a decent flush. On the turn, you will only have someone with a flush or even a set to call that bet and both beat you so don't try. If just one person is with you on the turn and you have a very strong read, possibly make the play but you have many better times to win money than this.

Maybe if you have the bare and the opponents were solid, you can get them to lay down but this play is just asking to pay off the nuts or a player that won't drop his Q high or J high flush.

i recommend simply not bluffing at the 25 level (voice of experience talking here).

free card plays are ok, betting draws is ok, and other plays like these that are more like semi-bluffs are ok.

in your case, oop and basically drawing to 2 outs, if you choose to continue, you want to keep the pot small and try to see more cards cheaply. there are plenty of bozos who will pay you off even after the board pairs (not every time, but sometimes), so no need to feel pressure to get all the money in early "just in case you hit".

also, a case can be made for LP just calling on the flop. since you CRed, he may be right to think that you will bet on the turn with perhaps the 2nd nut flush (perhaps with redraws). if this is likely, then he can get all the chips in the middle while holding the nuts when he raises you on the turn. that or you fold and he takes down a nice pot. if he reraises the turn, he has pretty much defined his hand (at least at the 25 tables) as the nut flush. as such, he probably won't get much action.
