In general I never fold a nut low in a loose live game. In a very simplified model lets say there are only 3 people who donated to the pot which would make the pot 3x in size and you contributed x. If you take 1/2 you win 3/2x and you put in x for a net of 1/2x. If you take 1/4 you get back 3/4x for a net of -1/4x. That means you get 1/4ed twice as often as you get 1/2 you will break even. Granted there is the possibility of getting 1/6 but IMO that is more then offset by the fact that there are always more then 3 people donating to a pot.
On this specific hand I would have raised pre-flop but I'm OK with calling. Other then that I liked the way you played it.
